A special Tet holiday for military cadets.

Unlike their peers who went home to celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year) with their families, the students of the Signal Corps Officer School had a special Tet at school. They participated in many heartwarming activities with their comrades, instructors, and administrative staff, creating a vibrant spring atmosphere in their "second home."

Tet at my "second home"

These days, officers, lecturers, staff, students, and soldiers at the school are all busy carrying out their assigned tasks, while also actively participating in beautifying the barracks' landscape. From repairing and whitewashing the entire housing system to trimming trees, adding flower pots and ornamental plants, and decorating the grounds, everything is being done urgently, bringing a fresh, spring-like appearance to the school.

Originally from Quang Tri province, this year marks the first time Sergeant Nguyen Huu Hoang Viet, a trainee in Company 2, Battalion 14, is celebrating Tet (Lunar New Year) away from home. Amidst the hustle and bustle of the year-end, despite feeling a little nostalgic for being away from home, the young trainee remains enthusiastic. He shared: "Instead of going home to prepare for Tet with my family like every year, this year I'm tidying up the barracks and decorating for the spring with my comrades. Staying at the unit for Tet offers many activities, so my comrades and I are all very excited."

For Sergeant Nguyen Huu Dat, a student in Company 3, Battalion 14, staying to celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year) with his unit was a memorable experience. He shared: "As a final-year student, staying at the school for Tet helped me gain experience in participating in activities such as decorating for Tet, preparing for spring celebrations... Later, when I graduate and take up my duties at the unit, I will no longer be surprised when assigned tasks."

Ensuring a joyful and safe Lunar New Year celebration.

To ensure that officers and trainees remaining on duty during Tet (Lunar New Year) could enjoy a joyful holiday and successfully complete their tasks, the Party Committee and Board of Directors of the Signal Officer School led and directed units to develop plans to organize many fun and friendly activities such as: a competition for making green sticky rice cakes; a New Year's Eve gala; decorating stalls for Tet; and a flag-raising ceremony at the beginning of the year... In addition, the school also organized a tree-planting festival and many other recreational activities during Tet, especially folk games and military games such as tug-of-war, blindfolded goat catching, stick pushing, volleyball, and football. These activities aimed to encourage and motivate officers and trainees to maintain peace of mind, compete to achieve many accomplishments, and strive to successfully complete all assigned tasks.

Colonel Nguyen Duc Thuan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Signal Officer School, said that in recent days, the school has done a good job preparing to organize Tet celebrations for its officers and students. Alongside the spring festivities, the school will organize a meaningful gala night for students to experience and gain experience in organizing Tet celebrations after graduation. At the same time, the school will connect online with students' families so they can see their children's growth and the concern of the Party, State, Army, Service Branch, and the school for the material and spiritual well-being of the students. With the motto of celebrating the new year without forgetting our duties, in recent times, the agencies and units within the school have successfully organized the development and implementation of combat readiness training plans, strictly maintaining command, duty, combat, and operational duty, ensuring absolute safety.

Entering the new spring with a proactive spirit and thorough preparation, the officers, lecturers, staff, students, and soldiers of the Signal Corps Officer School aim to achieve even greater results in all aspects of their work, meeting the requirements and tasks of education and training in the new situation. From there, they will further enhance the school's tradition of "Proactive creativity, unity and discipline, overcoming difficulties and striving for excellence, mastering technology, teaching well, and learning well."
