Lunar New Year 2026 (Year of the Horse): Which two locations in Quang Ngai will have fireworks displays?

On January 12th, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province announced the issuance of a plan to organize an art program for New Year's Eve and other activities for the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026. The event promises to bring a joyful and exciting atmosphere for people to welcome the new year, with spectacular fireworks displays. This is also an opportunity to celebrate the Party, the country, and to welcome the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Accordingly, the highlight of the series of activities is the art program "Quang Ngai Welcomes the Year of the Horse" combined with low-altitude fireworks on New Year's Eve, taking place simultaneously at Pham Van Dong Street Square (Cam Thanh Ward) and 16.3 Square ( Kon Tum Ward), broadcast live and livestreamed on the Quang Ngai Television fanpage.

The art program will take place from 10 PM to 11:30 PM on February 16, 2026 (the 29th day of the 12th lunar month). Immediately afterwards, starting at 11:30 PM, the province will organize a low-altitude fireworks display lasting no more than 15 minutes to welcome the New Year (the estimated cost is approximately 3 billion VND, raised through social contributions).

Besides the New Year's Eve program, localities in the province will organize many cultural, artistic, and sports activities; decorate landscapes, spring flower clusters, banners, and slogans to create highlights to welcome the new year. The organization of delegations to visit and offer incense at the province's typical historical and cultural relics will also be emphasized, contributing to traditional education and spreading cultural values ​​during the traditional Tet holiday.

The People's Committee of Quang Ngai province requires that Tet activities be organized thoughtfully, safely, economically, and without ostentatious displays; while also ensuring security and order, traffic safety, fire prevention and control, and healthcare services. Tet activities should be linked to social welfare, creating a joyful and healthy atmosphere, contributing to encouraging a spirit of competition, and providing impetus for the socio-economic development of the province in 2026.
