According to preliminary reports, as of February 9, 2026, Red Cross branches nationwide had provided over 1.3 million gift packages, with a total value of 731 billion VND (reaching 97.5% of the plan). The entire Red Cross system organized 112 "Compassionate Tet" programs following the "Fair - Gift Giving - Celebrating Tet" model, with flexible scales tailored to the conditions of each locality.

This year's movement features many new aspects, clearly demonstrating a direction of innovation and a people-centered approach. For the first time, the "Tet of Compassion Week" was organized simultaneously at the commune and ward levels nationwide, bringing Tet support activities closer to people right in their communities, while also promoting the role and responsibility of local associations in humanitarian work.

At the central level, the Vietnam Red Cross Society organized 10 "Compassionate Tet" programs, the largest ever, supporting 11,200 beneficiaries with a total value of over 11.957 billion VND. These programs were held in 10 localities (Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, Ninh Binh, Da Nang, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Hue, Lam Dong, and Quang Ngai), combining Tet gift giving with traditional activities such as the Compassionate Tet Market, zero-cost stalls, cultural and artistic performances, folk games, calligraphy writing, and free haircuts, contributing to helping people celebrate Tet warmly and meaningfully.

Notably, the "Tet for Flood-Affected People" program was implemented in 19 provinces and cities, supporting 12,627 households affected by natural disasters in 2025, with a total value of 11.9 billion VND. The program not only helped people stabilize their lives and celebrate Tet safely but also spread the spirit of sharing, social responsibility, and the traditional mutual support of the nation.

During the implementation process, the Central Committee of the Association allocated resources in three phases to directly support 32 provinces and cities, with a total budget of nearly 22.9 billion VND from domestic and international social mobilization sources. The Association also launched the fundraising campaign "Millions of Compassionate Tet Gifts" on the Thien Nguyen platform (account number 2022 - Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank), raising over 1.4 billion VND to care for people in difficult circumstances during Tet.

The "Compassionate Tet" movement for the Spring of the Year of the Horse 2026 continues to be implemented in many localities across the country, further affirming the core role and humanitarian bridge of the Vietnam Red Cross in mobilizing social resources to care for the poor and vulnerable, contributing to ensuring that everyone and every family has the opportunity to enjoy a peaceful and warm Spring Festival and Tet.
