Earlier, a resident of Thanh Duc 1 residential area, Sa Huynh ward, reported to the Sa Huynh Border Guard Control Station that while casting nets to catch seafood in the saltwater lagoon area, he discovered a sea turtle, approximately 40cm long, 30cm wide, and weighing about 3 kilograms, still healthy, entangled in his net.
Initial verification indicates that the sea turtle in question is a hawksbill turtle, belonging to the Green Sea Turtle family. This is an endangered and rare species, classified by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and the Vietnamese Red Book as requiring strict protection due to threats from hunting, marine pollution, and habitat loss.
