Advanced technology

The agreement was signed at Hyundai Rotem's headquarters in Seoul, South Korea, between Mr. Lee Yong-bae, General Director of Hyundai Rotem, and Mr. Tran Ba Duong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of THACO, at a time when Vietnam is implementing its railway industry development strategy along with a plan to build a robust railway network in Vietnam.

According to the signed agreement, Hyundai Rotem will transfer the most advanced technologies in the railway industry to THACO to organize the domestic production of urban trams and high-speed trains under the THACO brand.

Hyundai Rotem also collaborated in building an integrated system from rolling stock to signaling and other E&M items in a synchronized manner, helping THACO gradually master the entire technology chain, from production - operational management - maintenance, repair and servicing, optimizing costs and meeting international standards.

THACO will invest in the construction of a railway industrial complex including a locomotive and rolling stock manufacturing area, a closed-loop test track system, and a modern major repair center in the 786-hectare Mechanical and Supporting Industries Industrial Park in Binh Co Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
