The Vietnamese sports delegation officially departed on the morning of December 7. After several hours of travel, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Department, head of the delegation Nguyen Hong Minh, along with many coaches and athletes... arrived in Bangkok (Thailand) at 11:30, starting their journey to compete at the 33rd SEA Games.

Radiant in the red uniform of the Vietnamese sports delegation, rower Nguyen Thi Huong shared that at the previous SEA Games, rowing was not included in the competition program, so at this SEA Games, she and her teammates are more determined to strive for the highest results, bringing glory to the Fatherland.
As one of the doctors serving the athletes during the competition at the congress, Dr. Nguyen Van Trien (Vietnam Sports Hospital) was moved: "Although I have accompanied the Vietnamese delegation 7 times, I am still moved every time. Not only me, but the doctors and technicians in the delegation will also strive to serve the athletes to achieve the highest results."
Vietnamese sports hold top position in the region
The Vietnamese sports delegation attending the 33rd SEA Games has 1,165 members, including 842 athletes, 189 coaches, and 19 experts competing in 47/66 sports, with a total of 443/573 competition events.

Based on the analysis of the strength and the correlation of achievements in the region, the delegation set a target of striving to win from 90 to 110 gold medals, continuing to maintain its position in the leading group of Southeast Asia, while determined to protect the achievements of the two men's and women's football teams. All officials, experts, coaches and athletes of the Vietnamese sports delegation are deeply aware that this is an important task, a great responsibility and honor when competing for the glory of the Fatherland, for the pride of the Vietnamese people.
Up to this point, all preparations for the 33rd SEA Games have been completed, ensuring that the entire Vietnamese sports delegation is fully prepared to compete in the congress.
At the 33rd SEA Games, athletes aim to compete honestly and nobly, strictly complying with the regulations of the organizing committee and the host country; maintain and enhance the position of Vietnamese sports in the top of the region; make breakthroughs in key sports, especially Olympic sports; build an image of a civilized, professional, disciplined, and beautiful Vietnamese sports delegation in the eyes of international friends. Each athlete carries responsibility and pride when competing for the Fatherland, determined to devote themselves to the flag and colors, strive to achieve and exceed assigned targets, and actively contribute to the development of Vietnamese sports in the new period.
