Thai Nguyen: Issued Order to build emergency works to overcome flooding

The project has a total investment of about 60 billion VND, with implementation time in 2025 and the first quarter of 2026. For the dredging, renovation and repair items, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to implement. For the corridor clearance content, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the People's Committee of Phan Dinh Phung Ward to implement.

Accordingly, the functional sector and local authorities will implement 7 key contents, including: clearing the corridor of encroached canals, streams, and culverts to clear the flow; dredging many main streams such as Mo Bach - Lang Danh, Cong Ngua, Xuong Rong, Dong Danh and some sections of canals and culverts in residential areas that are frequently flooded; renovating and adding inlets, manholes, and water intake culverts on Quang Trung, Z115 and Dan overpass areas.

Along with that, install more box culverts and connect the drainage system on Phan Boi Chau - Minh Cau street; add a sewer system along Ben Tuong street to improve drainage; renovate and upgrade the sewer line on Luong Ngoc Quyen - Le Quy Don street, add and renovate some sewer sections and manholes according to actual surveys to complete the drainage capacity of the entire central area.

The Department of Construction requested that people in the project area closely coordinate with the authorities during the survey, construction and relocation of encroaching works, contributing to the project's completion on schedule, ensuring urban aesthetics and minimizing the risk of flooding in Phan Dinh Phung ward during the rainy and stormy season.
