This morning, March 14, Permanent Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong chaired a meeting with relevant departments, branches, localities and units to appraise the dossier for approval of the policy of changing forest use to other purposes to implement projects in the province.

The members of the appraisal council reviewed and gave their opinions on the following projects: Emergency evacuation of people from flooded and landslide areas on the riverbanks of Cu Bac village, Vinh O commune, Vinh Linh district, invested by the Project Management Board for Land Fund Development and Industrial Clusters, and Sea Tourism in Vinh Linh district with a total implementation area of 5.7332 hectares, and the proposed forest area for decision on changing the purpose of forest use is 5.2739 hectares.
The high-tech pig farm project with a scale of 2,400 sows is invested by Tuan Loc Vinh Khe Farm Joint Stock Company with a total area of 11.4546 hectares, the proposed area for decision on the policy of changing the purpose of forest use is 11.4546 hectares.
The traffic road project to Ba Voi waterfall, Dakrong district, invested by the Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board, has a total project implementation area of 2.1039 hectares, and the forest area proposed for decision on changing forest use purpose is 1.2787 hectares.
After listening to the opinions of the appraisal council members, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Ha Sy Dong, requested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to coordinate with the Department of Planning and Investment and the consulting unit to complete the provincial forestry planning. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will coordinate with the Department of Planning and Investment and the consulting unit to continue reviewing, updating and completing the dossiers as well as the next steps of the projects. In early April 2024, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will report back to the appraisal council to consider the above projects. Investors continue to supplement and complete procedures and conditions in accordance with the provisions of law.
