Visit and give gifts on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the International Day of Older Persons

On the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the International Day of Older Persons on October 1 and the Month of Action for the Elderly in Vietnam, on the morning of September 26, comrade Le Van Kien, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee visited and presented gifts to the Provincial Mental Rehabilitation Center and representatives of the elderly in Yen Mo district.

Also attending were leaders of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and leaders of Yen Mo district.

The provincial Mental Rehabilitation Center is currently nurturing and caring for 70 elderly people aged 60-80, including 11 meritorious people and the rest are extremely severe mental patients.

Speaking at the Provincial Mental Rehabilitation Center, Comrade Le Van Kien, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee acknowledged the results in the management, care and rehabilitation of subjects, including the elderly. He hoped that the officers and employees of the Center would continue to be dedicated and responsible in their work, taking care of the elderly so that they can live happily and healthily, and as a practical act of gratitude to those who have contributed to the cause and families with preferential policies.

Next, the delegation visited and presented gifts to Mrs. Doan Thi Nu, born in 1922, Tho Hoang village, Yen Hoa commune, an elderly person living with her son and his wife, and Mrs. Dinh Thi Xuyen, born in 1920, hamlet 2, Yen Thang commune, mother of a martyr.

At the families he visited, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee kindly asked about the health, life and activities of the elderly and gave them gifts from the province to encourage them. He wished them to live happily and healthily, promote the spirit of old age, high aspirations, and be an example for their children and grandchildren to learn and follow.

At the places visited, leaders of Yen Mo district and local leaders visited the families and gave gifts to the beneficiaries. This is an activity that shows the attention and care of all levels and sectors in the province for the spiritual life of the elderly, and at the same time is a source of encouragement for the elderly to continue to live happily and healthily.

* In the morning of the same day, comrade Le Thi Luu, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of the province visited and presented gifts to representatives of the elderly in Tam Diep city and Hoa Lu district. Accompanying the trip were leaders of Tam Diep city and Hoa Lu district.

The delegation visited and presented gifts to the following elders: Nguyen Thi Liem, born in 1922, group 7, Nam Son ward (Tam Diep city); Nguyen Van Thiet, born in 1922, Tan Duong 2 village, Ninh Van commune and Hoang Thi Nguyen, born in 1917, Dam Khe Ngoai village, Ninh Hai commune (Hoa Lu district).

The elders are now all over 100 years old, some are mothers of martyrs, some are from families of meritorious people. They are all cared for and looked after by their children, grandchildren, relatives, the government and the community to live happily and healthily.

At the places visited, leaders of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of the province visited the health and living conditions of the elderly, were happy to see that the elderly were cared for and looked after; at the same time, sent words of encouragement, wishing them good health, longevity, and to continue to be a support for their children and the community.

Giving gifts to the elderly, the leaders of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the leaders of the localities visited wished that the elderly continue to promote their role in the movement of the elderly to set good examples, become spiritual support, encourage their families and children to actively work, produce, comply with the Party's policies and guidelines, and the State's laws and policies, contributing to building the homeland to develop more and more.
