Recognizing that potential, in recent years, Thanh Hoa province has identified tourism as a key economic sector and prioritized attracting strategic investment. Up to now, the whole province has 76 tourism investment projects with a total registered capital of more than 152 trillion VND.
Of these, 18 projects have been completed and 58 projects are underway, many of which are large-scale and iconic projects such as: FLC Sam Son Golf Course and Resort Complex, Sun Beauty Onsen, Flamingo Linh Truong, Ben En Eco-tourism Urban Area...
These investment "dragons" have created an important boost, changing the face of Thanh tourism, turning Sam Son from a traditional coastal area into a major resort - entertainment - commercial center of the region.
Sam Son Beach Square, Sun Grand Boulevard, Sun World amusement park and a chain of luxury hotels and resorts have created a modern, civilized tourist space, meeting the needs of domestic and foreign tourists.
Not only developing sea tourism, Thanh Hoa also expands new directions with community ecotourism, cultural - historical - spiritual tourism. Destinations such as Pu Luong, Ban Ma, Ban Ngam (Western Thanh) are becoming "green gems" attracting domestic and foreign tourists.

After the Covid-19 pandemic, Thanh Hoa tourism industry quickly "reopened" with a series of stimulus programs, new products and a new tourism brand identity.
The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has advised on many key solutions: reviewing and adjusting planning, promoting investment, promoting professional tourism images on digital platforms, and strengthening regional and international connections.
After 5 years, Thanh Hoa is estimated to welcome more than 58.2 million visitors, with an average growth rate of 34.4% per year, and total tourism revenue reaching 128,886 billion VND (equivalent to more than 1 billion USD from international visitors).

Pu Luong Eco-tourism Area has pristine beauty and is a favorite destination for tourists on their journey to explore the nature and culture of the Western Thanh Hoa community.
In the first 10 months of 2025 alone, the province welcomed more than 15.58 million visitors, an increase of 6.2% over the same period in 2024; total revenue reached 43,380 billion VND, an increase of 33.7%. This is an impressive result, putting Thanh Hoa continuously in the top 5 localities leading the country in terms of the number of tourists.
Along with the growth in the number of visitors, promotion and advertising activities have been implemented strongly and systematically. A series of events have been organized, such as the Ninh Binh - Thanh Hoa - Nghe An - Ha Tinh tourism promotion conference, Thanh Hoa Cultural and Culinary Festival 2025, Taiwan and Thailand Famtrip programs to survey tourism products in Thanh Hoa. The province also actively participates in major fairs and festivals such as Hanoi Autumn Festival 2025, Quang Ninh Culinary Festival 2025, Hanoi Autumn Fair...
In particular, the operation of the smart tourism information system, 6 tourism information kiosks, and Thanh Hoa tourism electronic information portal has helped promote destinations easily, vividly, and quickly reach domestic and international visitors.

Lam Kinh Festival is one of a series of regularly held cultural and tourism events, contributing to promoting the image of Thanh Hoa as a dynamic, friendly and rich in identity.
“Thanh Hoa is entering an acceleration phase, not only relying on natural resources but also on technology and smart services. Thanh Hoa tourism will develop in a high-quality, sustainable and friendly direction,” affirmed a representative of the Thanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
With modern infrastructure, high-end product lines and the support of businesses and people, Thanh Hoa is gradually positioning its brand as a "bright spot of Northern tourism".
In the coming time, the province aims to increase investment attraction, speed up the progress of key tourism projects, develop professional human resources and expand regional linkages to form a chain of unique, international products.
