The report assesses that, in 2025, under the decisive, coordinated, and consistent direction of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, and with the proactive efforts of all levels, sectors, and localities, tourism activities in the province will continue to develop positively. Tourism infrastructure will receive significant investment, many new products will be introduced, cultural and tourism events and activities will be organized in a rich and vibrant manner, tourism service businesses will actively innovate, improve service quality, and strengthen linkages for product development; and people in localities with tourism potential will increasingly raise their awareness and actively participate, contributing to creating a civilized and friendly tourism environment and promoting the overall development of the industry.
By 2025, the total number of tourists in Thanh Hoa province is estimated to reach over 16 million.
In this regard, the Provincial People's Committee has directed localities to strengthen management, ensure security, safety and quality of tourism services, maintain the image of Thanh Hoa tourism as attractive and friendly; and directed the organization of inspections and guidance to ensure the conditions for receiving and serving tourists at coastal tourist areas.
Localities with coastal tourism continue to actively and proactively tighten order and discipline, and strengthen the management of tourism services; many unique cultural, sports , festival, and art events, as well as impressive new tourism products, have been successfully organized to attract tourists, create outstanding highlights, and appeal to a wide range of visitors, helping tourists have new experiences; giving a strong boost to Thanh Hoa tourism in general and coastal tourism in particular.
Investment in the restoration of historical sites continues to be accelerated, contributing to enhancing the value of these sites and making them attractive cultural and historical destinations. Many typical cultural events and festivals are organized to promote the value of historical and cultural sites, thereby enriching and elevating cultural and spiritual tourism products.
Many localities and businesses in the province have actively developed and introduced a variety of new tourism products, contributing to enriching the visitor experience and attracting a large number of tourists. Simultaneously, the province has paid special attention to developing OCOP (One Commune One Product) products for shopping and souvenirs, contributing to better serving the needs of tourists for sightseeing and shopping; many typical craft villages among the 123 recognized traditional crafts, craft villages, and traditional craft villages have become distinctive highlights in Thanh Hoa's cultural tourism.
Over the past year, the province has successfully organized numerous tourism promotion events and actively participated in and supported tourism businesses in the province to participate in tourism events in other provinces and cities nationwide, creating an effective media and promotional effect for Thanh Hoa tourism.
In 2025, the total number of tourists is estimated to reach 16,281,000, an increase of 6.1% compared to the same period in 2024, achieving 101.8% of the 2025 plan (of which international tourists are estimated at 852,300, an increase of 18.4% compared to the same period in 2024, achieving 100.3% of the 2025 plan). Total tourism revenue is estimated at VND 45,606 billion, an increase of 34.8% compared to the same period in 2024, achieving 100.2% of the 2025 plan (of which total revenue from international tourists is estimated at USD 457,220,000, an increase of 21.9% compared to the same period in 2024, achieving 120.3% of the 2025 plan).
The year 2026 is considered the first year of the new term, and is of particular importance, creating a foundation and momentum for the synchronized implementation of tasks and solutions, striving to successfully achieve the tourism development goals for the entire term.
The Provincial People's Committee aims to welcome a total of 16,800,000 tourists next year (including an estimated 937,000 international tourists). Total tourism revenue is estimated at 49,500 billion VND (of which total revenue from international tourists is estimated at 416,900,000 USD).
