Thanh Hoa accelerates cultural, sports and tourism development in the final stage

With a determined and proactive spirit, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has implemented a series of large-scale activities, creating clear highlights in social life and making important contributions to the overall growth of the province.

Many large-scale cultural activities spread strongly in the community

In October 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism completed 27/54 tasks assigned by the Provincial People's Committee, of which 100% were on time. The direction and management work was deployed synchronously from the grassroots to the provincial level, especially focusing on propaganda activities serving the 20th Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Congress, towards the 14th National Party Congress.

Lam Kinh Festival 2025 continues to be a major highlight, attracting a large number of people and tourists, contributing to affirming the historical and cultural values of Lam Son land.

Along with that, activities during the Lao Cultural Week in Vietnam were successfully organized in Thanh Hoa, enhancing cultural exchange and promoting the local image.

The movement “All people unite to build a cultural life” has also been widely implemented. A series of plans for awarding the titles of “Cultural Family”, “Cultural Village and Residential Group” and “Typical Commune and Ward” have been issued; civilized wedding and funeral models continue to be guided for application in 76 mountainous communes.

Propaganda work on digital platforms, social networks and reports reflecting the sustainable poverty reduction program in Son Thuy, Pu Luong has been promoted.

In the field of ethnic culture, many activities to preserve heritage and teach traditional values were organized, such as the Highland Folk Arts Festival in Trung Ly commune; training on intangible culture of the Muong ethnic group; implementing items in the Project to preserve the language, writing, and traditional occupations of ethnic minorities. These programs not only help preserve identity but also create a foundation for developing community tourism .

The work of preserving relics is given special attention. The Department has advised on many plans to restore and embellish degraded relics such as Xuan Minh Revolutionary Relic Complex, Dinh Le Temple, Ba Trieu Relic Site; at the same time, coordinated the implementation of the archaeological dossier of Dan Nam Giao - Tay Do. Tasks related to the World Heritage Site of Ho Dynasty Citadel were also carried out on schedule.

Performing arts and cinema activities took place vigorously with dozens of major programs: cultural festivals, television plays, art programs serving groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies of key projects, cultural and culinary festivals, propaganda films about islands and seas, and political events.

Tourism grows strongly, many targets exceed plan

Tourism continues to be a bright spot in Thanh Hoa's socio-economic picture. In October 2025, the province welcomed more than 283,400 visitors , up 11.5% over the same period; total tourism revenue reached VND 783,700 billion , up 38.7%.

Notably, international visitors increased by 12.7%, affirming the growing attraction of Thanh tourism on the international tourism map.

In the first 10 months of 2025, Thanh Hoa welcomed more than 15.58 million visitors, reaching 97.4% of the yearly plan; total tourism revenue reached 43,380 billion VND, up 33.7%.

The indicators of international visitors and revenue from international visitors are ahead of schedule, showing the effectiveness of tourism promotion and diversification activities.

During the month, Thanh Hoa successfully organized the Thanh Culture - Cuisine Festival 2025; welcomed the Thai Famtrip delegation to survey products and connect new tour routes; participated in a series of major tourism events in Hanoi, Quang Ninh and other provinces and cities.

Tourism information activities are enhanced through information kiosks, promotional systems on flights, and the identity system "Thanh Hoa Tourism - Four Seasons of Fragrance" is being completed.

In addition, the Department is advising the Provincial People's Committee on many strategic projects such as: organizing the National Tourism Year 2027 in Thanh Hoa, selecting Thanh Hoa Tourism Ambassador, issuing economic and technical standards to serve tourism resource development, and building a tourism development program for the period 2026 - 2030. This is expected to create a strong boost for Thanh tourism in the coming years.

In the field of sports, the tournaments in the 10th Provincial Sports Festival took place successfully, attracting thousands of athletes. High-performance sports also achieved outstanding results: 52 medals of all kinds in October. The National Archery Championship held in Thanh Hoa caused a big stir in the country's sports community.

Information and press work continues to be tightened, promptly orienting public opinion, closely monitoring local-related content in the press and social networks. The press center serving the Provincial Party Congress was built on schedule; the work of licensing publishing and checking for archiving copies took place seriously and in accordance with regulations.

Entering November 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa identified a series of key tasks, focusing on propaganda for the 20th Provincial Party Congress, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Congress, and the election of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

Regarding grassroots culture, the Department will organize training courses on building village rules and regulations, implementing the Code of Conduct in the family, promoting propaganda on preventing domestic violence, and completing the manual for activities at the Cultural House and village sports area.

Heritage conservation work will continue to be invested in with the appraisal of relic restoration records, preparation of scientific publications on the Con Moong Cave heritage, and organization of activities to celebrate Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23).

In the sports sector, the province continues to organize the remaining competitions of the Provincial Sports Festival, closely monitor athlete training, and prepare for national and international tournaments.

In the tourism sector, Thanh Hoa focuses on completing the proposal dossier for the National Tourism Year 2027, preparing for the 2025 Tourism Promotion Conference, and building policies to support tourism development until 2030.

In addition, press information work, advertising management, and digital transformation in the fields under the Department continue to be promoted, aiming at the goal of effective and transparent management and strong application of technology.

With a large amount of work, spread across many fields, October and November 2025 show Thanh Hoa's clear determination to make a breakthrough, creating a solid foundation for the 2025 - 2030 period.
