Ho Dynasty Citadel is expected to welcome and serve 269,681 visitors in 2025.

The year 2025 marked a significant breakthrough for the Ho Dynasty Citadel Heritage Conservation Center in attracting tourists. Despite the general challenges facing the tourism industry, the unique "Stone Capital" in Southeast Asia welcomed and served 269,681 visitors, far exceeding the planned target of 160,000 (achieving 168.55%). Notably, the number of international visitors began to show stable growth, demonstrating the heritage site's appeal to the world .

Beyond tourism , the unit has also achieved brilliant results in its professional work. Last year, the unit collected 209 artifacts. The cleaning, preservation, and documentation of hundreds of archaeological artifacts have contributed to enriching the valuable archive of documents about the Ho Dynasty and the historical capital of Tay Do.

A key highlight of the Ho Dynasty Citadel over the past year has been the "digitization" of the visitor experience. Instead of traditional, dry information boards, the Center has actively applied artificial intelligence (AI) and QR codes at its attractions.

The most appealing aspect of Ho Dynasty Citadel is the "digitization" of the visitor experience, transforming the heritage site from a silent block of stone into a vibrant and more accessible place for younger generations.

From TikTok-based competitions like "I am a heritage guide for my hometown" to the "Golden Bell" quiz show, heritage sites are no longer just silent blocks of stone but have become more vibrant and accessible to the younger generation. Activities steeped in traditional culture, such as the Thượng Nêu ceremony, the "Spring Calligraphy Festival," or the "Nam Giao Altar of Tay Do" exhibition, have truly created a multi-sensory experience for visitors.

Alongside the bustling external activities, core conservation efforts continue quietly but resolutely. Excavations at the Nam Giao Altar and efforts to prevent termite damage to the northern city walls are races against time to protect the integrity of the heritage. Particularly impressive are the results of collecting and documenting archaeological artifacts over the past year, enriching a valuable body of knowledge and laying a solid foundation for future in-depth research. Artifacts buried deep underground are now brought to light, scientifically organized, and become perfect pieces to reconstruct the appearance of the ancient capital of Tay Do.

Activities steeped in traditional culture are one of the attractions for tourists.

Entering 2026, Ho Citadel stands before a momentous milestone: the 15th anniversary of its recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is not merely a celebratory event, but is expected to be a "boost" to elevate the heritage site's status on the international tourism map. The direction for the coming year is a comprehensive strategy, ranging from upgrading the artistic lighting system and security cameras to create a dazzling and safe heritage space at night, to accelerating a decade-long strategic archaeological program.

The aspiration for 2026 is to transform Ho Citadel into a sustainable tourism ecosystem, where tangible cultural heritage blends with the intangible values of the ancient capital. The center aims to attract visitors not only with its imposing appearance but also with the depth of the experience. Upgrading the website and enhancing interaction in the digital space will continue to be key to bringing the image of Ho Citadel further, touching the hearts of culture lovers worldwide.
