Building a generation of young people with knowledge and skills

Mr. Doan Thanh Cong, Deputy Secretary in charge of the Provincial Youth Union, Permanent Vice President of the Youth Union of Lang Son province emphasized: In order for the movement "I love my Fatherland" to promote positive effects, the Youth Union at all levels in the province has proactivelyeducated on ethics, lifestyle, revolutionary traditions, encouraged young people to voluntarily study and practice; set an example in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws. Along with that, the Youth Union at all levels in the province also created many opportunities for young people to practice through specific programs and activities such as: Patriotic and courageous youth; creativity, entrepreneurship; volunteering for the community; physical health, solid skills, proactive international integration.

The work of educating morality, lifestyle, and fostering love for the homeland and country for young people is carried out by all levels of the association in many diverse forms, through branch and association meetings, forums, seminars, festivals with the theme "I love my Fatherland", Lang Son Youth Newsletter, social networks... At the same time, strengthening education on historical traditions through major holidays of the country and the province; organizing the admission of new members at historical sites; organizing journeys to the source, to red addresses; Lang Son Youth journey for the Fatherland's borders, for the homeland's sea and islands... Thereby, actively contributing to the work of building a generation of young people who live with ideals and ambitions; uphold the law; actively study, practice and improve themselves, and live more responsibly towards themselves, their families and society.

Members of the Youth Union at all levels in Lang Son province actively participate in scientific research, propose many startup ideas, initiatives, and technical improvements in work as well as in life. Every year, youth union members in the province have dozens of startup ideas participating in the "Rural Youth Startup Project" and "Startup Idea" competitions. Among them, many creative and feasible startup ideas are supported to be realized, creating jobs and income for young people. Typical examples include the high-tech agricultural production project combined with tourism and experiential education of Mr. Nguyen Minh Anh (Dong Tan commune, Huu Lung district); the strawberry production model combined with eco-tourism of Ms. Hoang Thu Tra (Lang Son city); the civet breeding model for reproduction and commercial purposes of Mr. Pham Duc Trong (Van Nham commune, Huu Lung district) ...

During the past term, Lang Son province had more than 100 youth economic development models with income from 100 million VND to 500 million VND/year; 5 young people received the Luong Dinh Cua award and 1 young person was in the top 100 outstanding young entrepreneurs nationwide in 2023.

Volunteer for the community

Demonstrating their role and responsibility towards their homeland and country, members and youth in Lang Son province always actively participate in specific movements and activities for community life.

During the past term, the Youth Union at all levels in Lang Son province supported the construction of 8 classrooms, "Beautiful School for Children" points, 1,500 improved toilets, and household garbage pits; supported the construction of 35 charity houses and red scarf houses; presented 17,550 gifts and more than 2,200 scholarships to families and students in difficult circumstances; implemented 50 models of "Lighting up village roads" and "Bright - green - clean - beautiful" villages; organized more than 2,500 volunteer activities attracting more than 120,000 members and young people to participate; organized medical examinations and provided free medicine to 34,000 people... with a total value of over 15 billion VND.

As a youth member actively participating in volunteer activities, Ms. Luong Bich Loan, a member of the Youth Union of Cao Lau commune (Cao Loc district) expressed: I personally feel very proud to contribute my small efforts to build my homeland more and more beautiful. In the coming time, I will continue to join hands with members and youth in the commune to implement more meaningful projects.

Lang Son youth support schools in the province to clean up and overcome consequences after floods.

In particular, during the recent floods caused by storm No. 3, the youth force of the whole province proactively supported affected families, schools, and agencies in leveling mud and repairing houses and offices; connecting and transporting necessities and support goods from benefactors to affected people.

"Storm No. 3 caused my family's entire house to be flooded and completely collapsed. As soon as the storm subsided and the water receded, the young people quickly came to support my family with essential necessities; cleaned up the mud, leveled the ground to prepare to build a new house. I was very touched because when my family was in the most difficult time, the young people were there to support and help," said Mr. Luc Van Cong (Dai Dong commune, Trang Dinh district).

The programs and activities implemented and organized by the Youth Union at all levels of Lang Son province have concretized the movement “I love my Fatherland” to become more widespread, practical and effective. Thereby, the position and role of youth as the pioneer force in building and defending the Fatherland have been increasingly affirmed.
