This achievement comes from focusing on restructuring the agricultural sector and production sector, ensuring that it is suitable to the actual conditions of the locality on the basis of promoting the potential and existing advantages of each region. In particular, building brands, organizing production according to processes and quality standards to improve the competitiveness of products in the market is one of the important tasks and solutions that the provincial agricultural sector focuses on investing in.

Lao Cai farmers have overcome the mindset of self-sufficiency and self-sufficiency in production, shifting strongly to the production of high-quality goods. Up to now, not only has food security been ensured, but most of the province's key agricultural products have been applying production processes according to VietGAP standards; organic cinnamon certification and FSC sustainable forest certification (the whole province currently has 4,197 hectares of forest with 5,197 growing area codes) to facilitate exports...

Along with implementing production according to processes and quality standards, the province has focused on evaluating and classifying OCOP products, granting geographical indication certificates, certification labels and granting growing area codes... for agricultural products.

The whole province has 594 OCOP products (including 2 5-star products, 49 4-star products, 543 3-star products). Since then, many products have gradually built their brands, promoted their images and improved their competitiveness in the market; many products have been exported abroad.

179 communes (before the merger of Lao Cai province) meeting new rural standards is a telling number, demonstrating the province's concern and the efforts of all levels, sectors, and localities as well as the solidarity and unanimity of the people of all ethnic groups for the goal of sustainable development.

The 1st Congress of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030 set the target: Total product in the area at current prices by 2030 will reach over 240,000 trillion VND; in which the structure of agriculture - forestry and fishery accounts for 12.4%; strive for an average growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the period 2026 - 2030 of 10%/year or more; by 2030, GRDP per capita will reach 136 million VND, average income per capita will reach 70 million VND...

"To achieve the set goals, the responsibility of the agriculture and environment sector is to advise the province on mechanisms and policies, and at the same time must organize and implement them well. We identify this as a difficult task, requiring the agriculture and environment sector as well as the Party committees and local authorities to make even greater efforts; at the same time, it requires the joint efforts and consensus of the entire political system, the proactiveness, positivity and progress of farmers in the province," emphasized Mr. Nguyen Thai Binh - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lao Cai.

The thinking and guiding viewpoints on the development of the province's agriculture and environment sector are very specific, focusing on the production of goods associated with the consumer market; developing high-tech agriculture and continuing to promote the construction of new rural areas... With the attention of the Government, ministries, branches and the province, promoting the tradition of 80 years of solidarity, striving, overcoming difficulties and rising up, the Lao Cai agriculture and environment sector will continue to achieve new achievements, people's lives will become increasingly prosperous, the appearance of Lao Cai's countryside will become more and more beautiful, developed and happy.
