The French coach said: “If we talk about the purpose of this match, the Vietnamese team has succeeded. In the past 6 months, I have changed the philosophy of the Vietnamese team, helping the players to be more confident and proactive in holding the ball.
From the performance, attitude and solidarity of the whole team, I feel satisfied. Of course, I am not surprised with today's result, we will summarize the remaining problems and do better in the next match".
In the match that took place on the evening of October 10 at Dalian Stadium, the Vietnamese team created many scoring opportunities but failed to capitalize on them.
Talking about this, Coach Troussier was unhappy and said that his students could do better.
“Regarding the result, we are disappointed to have lost to China. Considering the performance on the pitch, we deserved to win. Vietnam created the same number of scoring opportunities as their opponents.
The Vietnam team is being changed to prepare for the World Cup and Asian Cup qualifiers. Today I let the players control the ball and let them make their own decisions,” said Mr. Troussier.
Sharing the same opinion with coach Troussier, center back Que Ngoc Hai said he did not feel disappointed about losing to the Chinese team.
Even the player from Nghe An said that the whole team has made progress and adapted quite well to the new tactics.
According to the schedule, on October 13, the Vietnamese team will have a friendly match with Uzbekistan.
