The hospital’s leaders, doctors, nurses and staff participated in the blood donation. On this occasion, more than 400 units of donated blood were received, promptly supplementing the blood supply for treatment at the hospital and other medical facilities.
“White Blouse - Pink Heart” is a humanitarian blood donation program organized by the Central Maternity Hospital on February 23, on the occasion of Vietnamese Doctors' Day, February 27.
According to the representative of the Central Maternity Hospital, medical staff who come into contact with patients every day understand the need for blood for emergency and treatment, so along with professional work, blood donation also contributes to the opportunity for patients to receive timely treatment, helping them to recover their health soon.
The National Blood Center, National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion said that the center needs to receive about 40,000 - 42,000 units of blood each month. In the first two months of 2024 alone, the Institute needed at least 80,000 units of blood to supply to more than 180 medical facilities in 31 provinces and cities. Together with volunteer donors across the country, doctors and nurses at many units have contributed to ensuring blood supply for emergency treatment.
