The decision signed by Mr. Tran Chien Thang, former Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Chairman of the Vietnam Gymnastics Federation on December 1 clearly states: athletes who win Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in the Gymnastics and Aerobics categories will receive certificates of merit and corresponding rewards from the federation.

Accordingly, each Gold Medal is awarded 10 million VND; Silver Medal receives 6 million VND; and Bronze Medal is awarded 4 million VND. This is an important source of encouragement for the athletes, especially in the context of this year's SEA Games with many changes in content and competition regulations, directly affecting the plans of the teams.
At the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnam National Gymnastics Team participated with 7 athletes, including prominent faces such as Nguyen Van Khanh Phong, Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien, Dinh Phuong Thanh, Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu. The target of Vietnam Gymnastics at the 33rd SEA Games is to win 2-3 Gold Medals.
According to the new regulations, the organizing committee has removed the all-around and team events - which are the traditional strengths of Vietnamese men's gymnastics. Instead, the 33rd SEA Games only has individual events. Each athlete can register for a maximum of 3 events and can only enter the finals of 2 events. The narrowing of the "stage" has forced the team to adjust the entire preparation plan, focusing more on choosing the event that best suits the strengths of each athlete.
In Aerobics, Vietnam also participated with 7 excellent athletes. At the most recent SEA Games, Vietnam Aerobics made an impression by winning all 5 gold medals of the Games, thereby contributing significantly to the leading achievements of the Vietnamese sports delegation in the region. However, at the 33rd SEA Games, Aerobics had a big change when the organizing committee reduced the competition to only two events. This made the ability to fully defend the achievements of the previous SEA Games more difficult.
