On the afternoon of December 7, Vietnam badminton lost 1-3 to Malaysia in the quarterfinals of the women's team event at the 33rd SEA Games. Since the semi-finals of this event did not have a third-place match, the winning team in the quarterfinals will certainly win at least a bronze medal.

This also makes fans regret not being able to witness the first medal of the Vietnamese sports delegation.

In today's series, only Nguyen Thuy Linh won against Malaysia in the first women's singles match. Vietnam's number 1 female tennis player came from behind to win 2-1 (15-21, 21-10 and 23-21) against Letshanaa Karupathevan.

Then veteran tennis player Vu Thi Trang was also helpless against younger opponent Ling Ching Wong with a score of 1-2 (14-21, 22-20 and 14-21).

Pham Thi Khanh and Dieu Ly could not cause any surprise against the world number 2 pair Pearly Tan and Muralitharan Thinaah.

In the final match, Bui Bich Phuong unfortunately lost to Siti Zulaikha (19-21 and 19-21).

However, this is also something that experts have predicted in advance because the gap between the two badminton levels is still quite large. Badminton fans in the country can hope for Thuy Linh in the women's singles in the coming days.
