In the quarter-final match between Vietnam and Malaysia this afternoon, Vietnam's number one female tennis player Nguyen Thuy Linh took the lead, defeating Karupathevan 2-1 (15-21, 21-10 and 23-21).

However, this was the only victory of the Vietnamese women's badminton team in this match. After Nguyen Thuy Linh's match, Vu Thi Trang lost to Ling Ching Wong with a score of 1-2 (14-21, 22-20 and 14-21).

In the third match between Vietnam and Malaysia, the Vietnamese women's team's athlete pair Pham Thi Khanh and Dieu Ly lost to the Malaysian pair Pearly Tan and Muralitharan Thinaah.

However, we still lost 1-3 to the Malaysian team (Photo: Tuan Bao).

Finally, in the 4th match between the two teams, Bui Bich Phuong suffered a 0-2 defeat (19-21 and 19-21) against Siti Zulaikha of Malaysia. In the end, the Vietnamese women's badminton team lost to Malaysia 1-3.

Because the women's team event in badminton at the 33rd SEA Games does not have a bronze medal match, a ticket to the semi-finals also means a medal is guaranteed.

So, after the Vietnamese women's badminton team lost to Malaysia in the women's team event this afternoon, we officially missed the chance to win our first medal at this year's SEA Games.
