Tomorrow night (May 14), Southeast Asian football will be boiling again with another final match between Vietnam and Thailand. This time it is the final of the Southeast Asian Cup C1 where CAHN Club will represent Vietnam to face the strongest team in Thailand, Buriram United.

Before entering this match, Buriram carried the hope of being able to “pay back” the debt to the country’s football with a victory at the club level. Their opportunity is very feasible as this team possesses superior strength, not only in domestic football but also in the region.

They are the Southeast Asian representative who advanced the furthest in the recent Asian Cup 1. The Buriram squad possesses many prestigious national players combined with high-quality foreign players such as Bissoli, Etheridge...

That confidence was conveyed through the message of captain Theerathon Bunmathan, who has faced off against members of the Vietnamese team many times.

The 35-year-old defender said: “This match is completely different - from the players, the nature to the circumstances. And I would also like to share that, when I was playing for the Thai national team, I rarely lost to the Vietnamese team.

But of course, I am no longer playing for the Thai national team. This is a different journey and to win the Southeast Asian Cup, Buriram must make a lot of effort. I am very happy to meet Coach Polking and the Vietnamese players again. This is a match worth waiting for. As the away team, there will certainly be some difficulties, but I believe in the careful preparation of the whole team. Buriram's goal is to win and win the championship."

In the group stage match, Bunmathan and his teammates were defeated in Hanoi . But that was a match in which Buriram did not have the strongest squad with many key players at home, the rest were tired from playing at a high frequency. The Thai team had reason to be more confident because this time they met again, they brought almost the strongest force, only missing Suphanat due to injury.
