19 more foreign-educated PhDs return to teach at Ho Chi Minh City National University

19 PhDs graduated from the world's top schools and returned to teach and conduct research at member schools of Ho Chi Minh City National University.

A total of 20 PhDs admitted to the VNU350 Program will work at the following units: University of Science and Technology (8 people), University of Social Sciences and Humanities (1), International University (2), University of Economics and Law (3), An Giang University (1), University of Health Sciences (4) and Institute of Advanced Materials Technology (1).

Among them, 19 scientists graduated with doctorates from prestigious institutions such as National University of Singapore, Chonnam National University (Korea), Ghent University (Belgium), Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), University of Orléans (France), Eindhoven University of Technology (Netherlands), Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand)... Many doctors have outstanding research achievements with dozens of scientific publications, of which the person with the most articles is 69.

According to the VNU350 Program, in the first two years, young scientists will be supported with a type C research topic (budget of 200 million VND); in the third year, they will be granted a type B topic (maximum of 1 billion VND); in the fourth year, they will be invested in a research laboratory (maximum of 10 billion VND); and in the fifth year, they will be supported and guided in procedures and processes for recognition of meeting the standards for the title of associate professor at the State level.

For leading scientists, in the first two years, they are granted a type B scientific research topic (maximum funding of 1 billion VND); in the following years, they are supported to invest in laboratories for scientific research (maximum funding of 30 billion VND); and are supported to establish strong research groups and register to preside over topics at all levels.

In addition to the above benefits, they receive salaries and bonuses according to regulations.

In addition, they receive an income of up to nearly 100 million VND/month paid by the schools.

The VNU350 program aims to realize the vision of developing Ho Chi Minh City National University into a top research university system in Asia, a place where talents gather and spread Vietnamese knowledge and culture.

The unit aims to recruit 350 scientists by 2030 under the VNU350 Program. To date, after the first 5 recruitment rounds, 69 scientists have been selected for the program.
