20 more outstanding scientists graduated from abroad to work at Ho Chi Minh City National University

Ho Chi Minh City National University has just welcomed 20 more excellent scientists graduating from universities around the world to work under the VNU350 program.

Ho Chi Minh City National University has just announced the results of the program to attract outstanding young scientists and leading scientists to work at this unit under the VNU350 program, phase 2 this year. Accordingly, 20 scientists were admitted this time out of a total of 32 applications.

Specifically, the scientists were admitted to 7 units of Ho Chi Minh City National University including: University of Technology with 8 people, University of Social Sciences and Humanities with 1 person, International University with 2 people, University of Economics and Law with 3 people, An Giang University with 1 person, University of Health Sciences with 4 people and Institute of Advanced Materials Technology with 1 person.

The list of successful candidates includes scientists who have received doctoral training at many prestigious educational institutions and research institutes in the world such as: National University of Singapore, Chonnam National University (Korea), Ghent University (Belgium), University of Orléans (France), Eindhoven University of Technology (Netherlands), Victoria-Wellington University (New Zealand)... Many of them have published dozens of scientific articles in domestic and international journals. The person with the highest number of publications is up to 69 articles.

To apply for the VNU350 Program, candidates need to meet general conditions and standards such as: having a doctoral degree; having the ability to teach and conduct independent research; having aspirations, ambitions, and a desire to contribute and dedicate themselves to the development of the country and of Ho Chi Minh City National University.

For young scientists, it is necessary to meet at least one of the following four criteria: have scientific articles published in prestigious journals and conferences; have inventions and patents that have been successfully registered; have transferred scientific and technological products; have new, promising research directions that are consistent with the development strategy of Ho Chi Minh City National University.

For leading scientists, it is necessary to meet 5 criteria on experience and capacity: leading a research group or laboratory; presiding over a scientific-technological topic or project; having works published in prestigious scientific journals or owning exclusive invention or patent rights; having experience in teaching and guiding graduate students; having domestic and international relationships and cooperation.

The VNU350 program aims to realize the vision of developing Ho Chi Minh City National University into a top research university system in Asia. The university aims to recruit 350 scientists under this program by 2030. To date, after 5 recruitment rounds, 69 scientists have been admitted to the program.
