Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online on the evening of May 21, a leader of the People's Committee of Kien Xuong town confirmed that on the same day, this unit issued a decision to administratively sanction 16 people from the Ngan Chau yoga club (located in Tien Hai district, Thai Binh province) for illegally gathering a large crowd, causing traffic obstruction.

Previously, the People's Committee of Kien Xuong town also issued a decision to administratively sanction 14 people in a yoga group in the area for lying and sitting on the street to take pictures of Lagerstroemia flowers, obstructing traffic.

After that, Kien Xuong Town People's Committee continued to receive more videos and images of another yoga group with similar behavior.

After verification, the authorities determined that on the morning of May 11, this group had gathered to practice yoga in the middle of the street with the purpose of taking photos and videos with purple Lagerstroemia flowers. The shooting area was also at the intersection of Tran Hung Dao Street and Nguyen Cong Thu Street (in Tan Hung residential group, Kien Xuong town).

Video footage shows a group of people spreading yoga mats and occupying almost the entire roadway, despite the fact that vehicles were still passing by. Based on the minutes of the meeting, the People's Committee of Kien Xuong town issued a decision to administratively fine the group of 16 people (each person was fined 150,000 VND).

Reason: illegally gathering in large numbers, lying or sitting on the road causing traffic obstruction, as stipulated in Point a, Clause 2, Article 11, Decree No. 100/2019/ND-CP dated December 30, 2019 of the Government regulating administrative sanctions for violations in the field of road and railway traffic.
