The BTH 80088TS boat, with a capacity of 90 horsepower, is used for crab fishing, owned by Ms. Linh in Tan Long, La Gi ward. According to local people, the Dinh River has been flowing rapidly in recent days due to prolonged heavy rains combined with high tides, making it extremely dangerous to enter and exit the estuary. Strong whirlpools and mud and sand filling the estuary area are said to be the main reasons why small, low-capacity boats are prone to accidents.
The boat owner's situation is also very difficult: Ms. Linh's husband is seriously ill, her son had to go to sea to replace his father and had just returned when the accident happened.

Previously, on November 8, in the same area, three consecutive boat sinkings occurred, many small fishing vessels were swept away, causing significant property damage. Authorities and local people mobilized trawlers and small boats to assist in salvaging and bringing the distressed boats to shore. Thus, in just the past few days, at least four boats have sunk at this estuary.

Currently, Phuoc Loc Border Guard Station (Phuoc Hoi Ward) is advising fishermen to limit going to sea during times of high and strong river flows, and to increase warnings and inspections of estuary areas to avoid similar incidents.

Authorities also asked fishermen to closely monitor weather conditions, proactively anchor their boats safely and strictly follow the instructions of the border guards to ensure the safety of life and property.
