Mexico's ambassador to Cuba, Miguel Ignacio Diaz Reynoso, stated that the aid came not only from the government but also from various civil society organizations, demonstrating solidarity with the Cuban people; he emphasized that President Claudia Sheinbaum's government wishes to continue supporting the Caribbean island nation.
Meanwhile, Uruguay's ambassador to Cuba, Juan Andres Canessa Franco, stated that the Uruguayan government's donation of milk was a small gesture compared to what is needed to demonstrate solidarity and cooperation in the region, given the difficulties Cuba is facing.
Cuban Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Oscar Perez-Oliva Fraga stated that the aid shipment arrived at a crucial time, and that these food items would be distributed to those most in need, especially the elderly, children, and vulnerable populations. Cuban Minister of Food Industry Alberto Lopez Diaz affirmed that the aid shipment from Mexico and Uruguay demonstrates the solidarity and unity of the Latin American region.
