The foundation upon which miracles are created.
According to Nguyen Xuan An, Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel ( Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ), over the past five years, the emulation and reward work of the agriculture and environment sector has been implemented regularly and continuously, linked to key political tasks such as: building new rural areas, sustainable poverty reduction, eliminating temporary housing, implementing workplace culture, innovation and digital transformation, and the campaign to enrich and clean up land data databases.

In addition, many specialized emulation movements have been launched extensively in each field: developing ecological agriculture, advanced new rural areas; applying VietGAP production processes and traceability; protecting and developing forests; paying for forest environmental services; preventing and mitigating natural disasters, building key irrigation projects and minimizing plastic and nylon pollution in the field of natural resources and environment…
The awarding of commendations was carried out in accordance with regulations, promptly, openly, and democratically, with a focus on direct laborers, small groups, and disadvantaged areas. The dissemination of information, highlighting exemplary models, and replicating advanced practices were intensified through specialized websites, columns, and commendation conferences. Many good models and effective approaches in rural development, poverty reduction, application of science and technology, and environmental protection were disseminated throughout the sector and localities.
Accordingly, during the period 2020-2025, the agriculture and environment sector has been recognized and honored by the Party, State, and Government with many prestigious awards. Specifically, 15 individuals were awarded the title of "National Emulation Fighter," 65 collectives were awarded the Government's Emulation Flag, along with 4 Independence Orders, 379 Labor Orders of various classes, and 606 Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister.
In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment awarded 525 titles of Emulation Fighter at the ministerial level, 471 Emulation Flags, 7,038 Ministerial Certificates of Merit, and 7,867 Commemorative Medals, recognizing the outstanding contributions of collectives and individuals throughout the sector.
Mr. An emphasized that emulation movements have become an important driving force promoting the restructuring of the agricultural sector, improving resource management efficiency, protecting the environment, and proactively responding to climate change. Thanks to these widespread patriotic emulation movements, the entire sector has overcome many difficulties, maintained stable growth, and contributed to achieving the socio-economic development goals for the 2020-2025 period.
During the period 2020-2025, the average annual growth rate of added value for the entire sector reached 3.12%, exceeding the set target; the value of agricultural, forestry, and fisheries production increased by 3.52% per year. 2024 is considered a special milestone for the sector, when the export turnover of agricultural, forestry, and fisheries products reached a record 62.5 billion USD, an increase of 18.7% compared to 2023 - the highest increase in the past two decades. Agricultural exports continued their strong growth momentum, with 11 items reaching a turnover of over 1 billion USD, of which 7 items exceeded 3 billion USD.
With the current growth momentum, the agricultural sector is expected to reach approximately $70 billion in export turnover in 2025, affirming the increasingly strong position of Vietnamese agricultural products in the international market.
Accelerate the emulation movement and affirm your position.
At the ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of the agriculture and environment sector and the First National Emulation Congress held on November 12th, General Secretary To Lam awarded the First-Class Labor Medal to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment. He also commended 30 cooperatives, 24 exemplary farmers and farm owners; 57 collectives and 151 individuals who are outstanding role models in the ministry and sector for their excellent achievements in the patriotic emulation movements during the 2020-2025 period.

Entering the 2025-2030 period, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is launching an emulation movement with the motto "Tradition - Innovation - Development - Sustainability".
According to Deputy Director of the Personnel and Organization Department Nguyen Xuan An, the sector will continue to closely follow the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party, as well as resolutions and strategies on agriculture, farmers, rural areas, resources, and the environment; promote the strength of unity, self-reliance, and self-improvement; and intensify patriotic emulation linked to the achievement of key objectives.
To ensure that the patriotic emulation movement truly becomes a driving force for development, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has identified several tasks and solutions. First, it is necessary to thoroughly understand and concretize the Party and State's policies on emulation and commendation; continue to strongly respond to emulation movements launched by the Central Committee and the Prime Minister, while also adapting them to the specific conditions and characteristics of the sector, such as: "The whole country joins forces to build new rural areas," and "The whole country joins hands for the poor - leaving no one behind."
Improve the quality of activities of emulation blocs and clusters, strengthen coordination between the Ministry and the Vietnam Fatherland Front, other ministries, branches, localities, and socio-political organizations to mobilize social resources and accompany farmers and communities in implementing emulation movements.
Strengthen inspection, supervision, preliminary and final reviews of emulation movements. Focus on identifying, nurturing, honoring, and promptly rewarding exemplary collectives and individuals, especially farmers, businesses, and grassroots officials with many innovative ideas and effective models, creating a widespread impact throughout the entire sector.
Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Duc Thang called on the entire sector to continuously strive for innovation and creativity, transforming pride into strength, aspirations into concrete actions, and resolutely fulfilling all tasks entrusted by the Party, State, and people. "The agriculture and environment sector will unite, make persistent efforts, and work together to build a strong, prosperous, green, and sustainable Vietnam, so that our homeland becomes increasingly 'more decent and more beautiful' as beloved President Ho Chi Minh always hoped," the Minister emphasized.
