Writing and storytelling contest to enhance Vietnam-China cultural exchange

In order to enhance understanding, promote cultural exchange and connection between the people of the two countries, the Chinese Cultural Center in Hanoi in collaboration with VTV Times organized a writing and storytelling contest with the theme "My relationship with China".

The Chinese Cultural Center in Hanoi in collaboration with VTV Times organized a writing and storytelling contest with the theme "My relationship with China".

This is a practical activity. Celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations (1950–2025) and the Year of Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange.

The contest includes 2 topics:

The first topic: “Warm moments in my journey to meet China”, encourages participants to share their personal experiences and memorable memories during their studies, cooperation or contact with Chinese culture, history and people. Simple and sincere stories will contribute to spreading friendship, empathy and respect between the two nations.

The second theme: “China’s Modernization Through My Lens” reflects Vietnamese people’s feelings and observations on China’s development and innovation process as well as bilateral cooperation achievements in many fields. Through creative and diverse perspectives, the theme contributes to clarifying the path of modernization with Chinese characteristics, enhancing understanding of contemporary China and China’s development model.

The two themes complement each other, harmoniously combining cultural depth and contemporary spirit.

Contestants: Vietnamese people in many fields (Sinology scholars, businessmen, young creators, Vietnamese-Chinese families, media, etc.); Vietnamese people who love Chinese culture; university students (especially those majoring in Chinese, international relations, etc.); Vietnamese people who have studied, worked, traveled in China or participated in the "One Belt - One Road" cooperation project.

The contest accepts entries in 3 categories:

Text: Short article (800-1,500 words); poetry (priority given to bilingual Vietnamese-Chinese).

Images: Short videos (under 3 minutes, with Vietnamese or Chinese subtitles); photos (with 100-200 word descriptions, Vietnamese-Chinese bilingual preferred).

Artwork: calligraphy, painting and original artwork (with description and creative idea of ​​about 100-200 words in Vietnamese or Chinese, submitted electronically).

Suggested content for entries:

With the theme “Warm moments in my journey to meet China”: the opportunity to connect with Chinese culture (learning Chinese, loving tea ceremony, practicing Tai Chi, celebrating traditional holidays together…); experiences of cooperation and making friends with Chinese people; unforgettable memories during the journey of studying, working or traveling in China; personal feelings in the Vietnam-China cultural exchange.

With the theme "China's modernization through my lens": observations and perspectives on science and technology, China's modern infrastructure; cooperation projects in green energy, environmental technology; feelings about the digital economy; real personal experiences in China from transportation, cuisine, housing, clothing to technology services and the positive impact of modernization on personal life...

Participants can choose one of two themes or enter both. Each theme submits a separate work. The two themes are judged and awarded independently.

Time for receiving entries: from November 11 to November 30, 2025.

The closing ceremony and awards ceremony are expected to take place in December 2025.

The title clearly states: “Enter the My Love with China contest”.

Regulations on entries:

Individuals/groups can choose one of two topics or participate in both, each topic must submit a separate work. Each work can only be submitted once.

Text file in doc/docx format.

Photos must be in JPEG format, less than 15M in size (each photo), with a 100-200 word description attached (priority given to bilingual Vietnamese-Chinese).

Video must be in MP4 format (using H.264 codec, bitrate about 4.5 Mbps), under 3 minutes, with Vietnamese or Chinese subtitles (Vietnamese-Chinese bilingual preferred).

Photos and videos must not be fictional, arranged, or edited using computers or editing software.

For calligraphy, paintings and original works of art, please send directly by post.

The content of articles, photos, videos, calligraphy works, paintings and original fine art works must not violate State regulations and copyright laws, must not be contrary to Vietnamese customs and traditions, and must not violate other provisions of law.

Individuals/groups participating in the contest are responsible for the copyright of the contest content. In case of copyright infringement, the organizers have the right to remove the entries. The organizers do not return the entries and have the right to use the entries in propaganda and promotion activities about the contest.
