Niki Town, Hokkaido Province, Japan works with Yen Minh Commune

On the afternoon of November 11, a working delegation from Niki town, Hokkaido province (Japan) led by Mr. Sato Seiichiro, Mayor of the town, had a working session with Yen Minh commune. Receiving and working with the delegation were comrade Pham Van Son, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee and leaders of specialized departments and offices.

During the program, the delegation surveyed the actual education and training work at some secondary schools, high schools, and boarding schools in the commune. At the same time, they learned about cultural and tourism activities at the stopover in Ngan Chai village and the economic and commercial fields in the area.

At the meeting, the leaders of Yen Minh commune introduced the local socio-economic strengths, emphasizing the potential for clean agricultural development, community tourism and typical products of the region. At the same time, the commune shared about education, vocational training and development of services for tourists.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Sato Seiichiro expressed his wish to sign a memorandum of understanding between Niki town and Yen Minh commune in the near future to promote the exchange of trainees, support experience, science and technology between the two localities. The town proposed to implement a project to support education and training, providing free scholarships for students of Yen Minh commune to have the opportunity to study and work in Japan. The projects focus on training in local priority occupations such as agriculture and tourism, helping graduates to apply their knowledge and skills to develop their homeland.

This is the second working trip in 2025 between Niki town and Yen Minh commune. Based on this survey and work, the two localities will continue to develop plans, timelines, and necessary procedures to sign a cooperation agreement in the coming time. Thereby, promoting socio-economic development, education, and cultural exchange between the two sides.
