According to a quick report from the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ), on February 15th (the 28th day of the 12th lunar month), the nationwide goods market was quite vibrant as it entered the first days of the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Horse 2026.

On the 28th day of the Lunar New Year, shopping demand mainly focuses on fresh food, fruits, and flowers. At supermarkets and shopping malls, purchasing power increases sharply by 50-100% compared to normal days.

However, distributors have proactively replenished goods continuously, ensuring abundant supply, combined with various promotional programs, discounts, and market stabilization measures, so prices have remained basically stable compared to previous days.

At local markets, supply has also been increased to meet people's needs. Tet fairs and flower markets remain vibrant. As of the time of this report, the prices of most essential goods have not increased dramatically and are relatively stable compared to the previous day.

The supply of gasoline, diesel fuel, and consumer goods for Tet (Lunar New Year) is fully ensured; circulation and distribution activities are running smoothly, with no shortages, speculation, hoarding, or sudden price increases recorded. At some traditional markets, there have been slight localized price increases for fresh food due to high demand, but no unusual fluctuations have occurred.

The total value of inventory increased by approximately 10-15% compared to a normal month. At some large distribution companies, the inventory of certain essential goods increased by 20-40% to ensure there were no shortages.

The market stabilization program has been implemented in 34 provinces and cities. In Hanoi , 19 units participated with approximately 10,700 sales points; in Ho Chi Minh City, more than 89 units participated, with stabilized goods accounting for 23-43% of the market share depending on the product group.

Forecasts indicate that on the 29th day of the Lunar New Year, demand may increase slightly in the morning for some fresh produce items, then gradually decrease. Prices will generally remain stable, although the prices of flowers and ornamental plants may tend to decrease.
