We are forced to change traditional professions, apply more technology and each person must have a profession.
Mr. TRAN ANH TUAN (Ho Chi Minh City VocationalEducation Association)
Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union Nguyen Dang Khoa said the 13th festival with the theme "Choosing a career for the future with you" directed by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, the Youth Employment Service Center, the Ho Chi Minh City Vocational Education Association, District 1 Youth Union and Trung Vuong High School jointly organized with the hope of providing more information and more opportunities for young people to choose.
Mr. Tran Anh Tuan - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Vocational Education Association - said that each person needs to have a minimum cultural foundation of graduating from high school and a solid career foundation. The job market is changing very strongly, the unemployment rate will remain high, many professions will face difficulties, even disappear from the market. However, reassuring students, Mr. Tuan said that many new jobs have been created, which is an opportunity for those who are sensitive, know how to grasp and accept change.
Student Nguyen Truong Hao Phong (grade 10, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia High School) wondered how to clearly identify orientation and determine career goals. In response, Mr. Tuan said that it must start from identifying one's own strengths, interests, passions and abilities, along with factors such as stability, future, room for development, and market demand for that profession.
Many occupational groups with current and future human resource needs are engineering technology, economics - administration - finance, natural sciences, construction - environment, medicine, architecture - environmental science, agricultural and forestry technology, culture - arts.
However, many students have not yet equipped themselves with life skills (listening and understanding, teamwork, foreign languages, digital technology applications, etc.) and that is a shortcoming that needs to be overcome.
Student Tran Hoang Thien (grade 9, Doan Thi Diem Secondary School) asked: "What factors hinder the success of a young person?". Based on his personal experience and perspective, Mr. Tuan said that first of all, you do not believe in yourself and do not dare to step out of your comfort zone.
"Over-pride and over-confidence when having some initial success but easily collapsing, being miserable, and losing confidence when encountering slight failure are also significant barriers," Mr. Tuan added.
Students participated in a career orientation test before coming to the festival. This is a widely used test in the world to help determine quite accurately each individual's personality group to give suggestions for suitable career choices.
Advice for young people: Do not easily put all your trust in the shiny things and then be ready to pursue the job even though you know it is not suitable. Life always has challenges and you have to calmly overcome them to achieve success. You need to prepare your inner strength, a solid knowledge base, professional experience as well as courage and a good attitude.
