This is a practical activity to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army on December 22, 2025, the 36th anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the founding of Nam Nhu Border Guard Station (January 20, 2006 - January 20, 2026).
Attending the launching ceremony were representatives of Nam Nhu Border Guard Station; School Board of Directors, along with staff, teachers and more than 900 students.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major Thao A Sinh, Deputy Political Commissar of Nam Nhu Border Guard Station, emphasized: The contest aims to widely propagate to students the glorious tradition of the Vietnam People's Army; educate love for the homeland, national pride and a sense of responsibility to protect territorial sovereignty and national border security. At the same time, this is also a useful playground to help students develop their painting talent, nurture their souls and aesthetic perception; contribute to strengthening the coordination between the school and Nam Nhu Border Guard Station in caring for and educating the young generation in the border area.
Being moved as a contestant, Lo Phuong Nhi, class 9A2, shared: "In our minds, the border guards are both resilient on patrol and close and friendly in simple daily tasks, such as helping people rebuild their roofs after storms, giving books at the beginning of the school year, and taking care of people's health. There are border guards who even teach poor students. I am very excited to participate in this painting contest to express my feelings and gratitude to the border guards through my paintings."

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee of the contest awarded 5 gifts to students with especially difficult circumstances and awarded scholarships to 2 students sponsored by Nam Nhu Border Guard Station, under the program "Helping children go to school". These meaningful gifts continue to demonstrate the affection, responsibility and steadfast companionship of officers and soldiers of Nam Nhu Border Guard Station towards students and the school.
The "My Beloved Soldier" contest will take place from December 1 to December 12, 2025. Students will present their works on A3 paper with content about the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers, Border Guard soldiers, the military-civilian relationship at the border, their beliefs and dreams about their beautiful homeland of Dien Bien . The jury, including representatives of Nam Nhu Border Guard Station and the school, will conduct the scoring before December 15. The summary and award ceremony is expected to take place on December 22, 2025.
The contest has a prize structure including: 1 First prize, 2 Second prizes, 2 Third prizes, 4 Encouragement prizes and 1 "Most Favorite Work" prize voted on the Nam Nhu Border Post's fanpage. The excellent works will be used to serve the propaganda and education work of the unit and school's traditions.

The painting contest "My beloved soldier" not only opens a series of activities towards the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, the 36th anniversary of the National Defense Day and the 20th anniversary of the founding of Nam Nhu Border Guard Station, but also demonstrates the strong solidarity between the army and the people, the deep concern of Nam Nhu Border Guard Station for the cause of education in the border area. Thereby contributing to nurturing in students pride, love for the country and a sense of responsibility for the sacred border of the Fatherland.
