Adapting to the new tax policy

For businesses and household businesses in Dak Lak, the new tax policy is not just a change in numbers or regulations, but requires a comprehensive shift in management thinking to adapt and achieve sustainable development.

When incentives go hand in hand with transparency.

Overall, the new tax policies appear to be supportive but also come with stringent requirements for professionalism.

Raising the tax-free revenue threshold for household businesses from 500 million VND to 1 billion VND per year, along with increasing the personal allowance in the Personal Income Tax Law, are direct financial levers that help alleviate the burden on citizens and small traders. In particular, the decision to reduce the environmental protection tax on gasoline and diesel to 0 VND from the end of March to the end of June 2026 is a remarkable effort by the Government to curb inflation and support transportation costs for the province's key agricultural products.

However, behind these attractive figures lies a rigorous standardization process. The new Tax Administration Law and Value Added Tax Law will officially take effect from July 2026, creating a modern legal framework that minimizes cumbersome procedures while tightening discipline through Decree 310/2025/ND-CP on administrative penalties for violations. This forces businesses to abandon their intuitive management habits and shift to a transparent model where all cash flows, invoices, and documents must be recorded and stored scientifically and honestly.

Tax officials in Dak Lak province provide tax policy advice to businesses.

The biggest challenge currently lies with individual business households. This group is accustomed to the simple lump-sum tax method. Entering 2026, the shift to the declaration method is not simply a change in tax calculation but a revolution in accounting records. To adapt, business households in the province need to proactively familiarize themselves with simple accounting software, improve their financial management skills, and especially master electronic invoicing technology. Storing input and output invoices is no longer an option but a necessity to protect the rights of taxpayers, while also helping them gradually professionalize their operations and prepare for larger business scales in the future.

According to the Provincial Business Association, in the context of many new tax policies being implemented, especially the trend of digital transformation and changes in tax management methods, businesses and household businesses need to proactively prepare to adapt to new requirements. First and foremost, businesses and household businesses need to enhance transparency in their financial operations; fully comply with the regulations on invoices and documents; clearly record revenue and expenses; and strictly adhere to tax laws. This is not only a requirement in state management but also an important foundation for stable and sustainable business development.

Timely support

"The tax sector of Dak Lak province will continue to uphold the spirit of 'putting taxpayers at the center of service,' contributing to building a transparent and favorable investment and business environment, promoting the development of the private economy and socio-economic development in the province," said Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan , Head of the Tax Department of Dak Lak province.

The proactive approach of businesses is a necessary condition, but the support of relevant authorities is the sufficient condition for policies to be effectively implemented. In Dak Lak, the tax sector has clearly defined its mindset of partnering with taxpayers, placing them at the center of its service rather than merely fulfilling a management role.

Discussing the implementation roadmap for the new policies, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Head of the Tax Department of Dak Lak province, said that in the coming time, the tax sector will continue to promote the dissemination of new tax policies through various direct and online forms. At the same time, training courses and dialogues with businesses and household businesses will be organized to promptly resolve any "bottlenecks" arising in practice. Beyond theoretical training, the tax sector will focus on hands-on guidance, supporting the installation and use of electronic invoices, electronic tax declaration and payment software. The unit will also develop simple, easy-to-understand guidance materials for household businesses transitioning to electronic declaration so that any household business can access and implement them.

In addition to the above solutions, the tax sector is committed to promptly addressing any difficulties and obstacles arising during the implementation of tax policies. Simultaneously, it will continue to reform administrative procedures, reducing the time and costs of compliance for taxpayers. The acceleration of digital transformation and administrative procedure reform aims not only to reduce the time and costs of compliance for citizens but also to achieve the higher goal of building a transparent and equitable business environment.

This provides a solid foundation for the private sector in Dak Lak to not only adapt well to new policies but also seize opportunities to break through and contribute effectively to the overall socio-economic development of the entire province.
