The family of Mr. Y Thoc Lieng Hot (Buon Dung) is one of the poor households that has received many support policies from the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021 - 2025. In addition to general policies for poor households such as being granted free health insurance cards, monthly electricity bill support..., in 2023, his family was also given nearly 30 fruit tree seedlings, star fruit trees, and breeding cows. Mr. Y Thoc said: "After receiving support for trees and breeding cows, my family was instructed on planting and raising techniques... Currently, the trees are growing quite well, preparing for harvest; the breeding cows have also given birth, thanks to which the family economy has gradually stabilized. By the end of 2024, my family has risen out of poverty."

Giving away trees and seedlings is not only to help and create livelihoods for poor and near-poor households to have conditions for economic development, but is also an important strategy in sustainable poverty reduction. In a recent survey by the Commune People's Committee, the family of Mr. Y Vin Ong (Dung village) also met all the conditions to be removed from the list of poor households by the end of this year. Previously, his whole family had to live in a temporary house on the land given to him by his parents. By the beginning of 2025, with the State's support of 80 million VND, and the help of his relatives' working days, Mr. Y Vin was able to build a house. The whole family of 5 no longer has to live in fear every time it rains or the scorching heat in the dry season.
By the end of 2025, the total number of poor households in the commune is 590 households (accounting for 19.14%), 577 near-poor households (accounting for 18.72%); of which, the number of poor households of ethnic minorities is 583 households (accounting for 24.83%). |
Creating housing conditions for poor and near-poor households not only helps them have a place to live but also motivates them to develop their economy with peace of mind. This contributes to ensuring social security and strengthening the people's trust in the Party, the State and local authorities.
Mr. Y Hang Lieng Hot, Head of Dung village, excitedly said: “In recent years, poor and near-poor households in Dung village have benefited from many support policies of the State, including the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction. The support has created motivation and resources to help many households escape poverty. Up to now, the whole village has only 39 poor households out of a total of 136 households.”

Vice Chairman of Dak Phoi Commune People's Committee Hoang Thanh Be said that in the period of 2021 - 2025, Dak Phoi commune has effectively implemented many policies and programs for sustainable poverty reduction: investing in essential works such as electricity, roads, schools; supporting residential land, production land for poor households, issuing health insurance cards, supporting vocational training for workers to policies to support durian seedlings, rambutan trees, jackfruit trees, raising breeding cows, raising chickens... Since then, people have had conditions to develop production, gradually rising out of poverty sustainably.
It can be seen that, thanks to the support of the State, the participation of local authorities and the efforts of the people, the lives of the majority of ethnic minorities in the commune have had many positive changes, their incomes have been raised; in which many households have risen above poverty and improved their lives.
