Close the door and turn on the dehumidifier all day.
The wet season in the North usually begins after the Lunar New Year, which is around February to early March. However, the unusual weather with drizzle lasting for many days since early November has caused high humidity in many areas in the North, including Hanoi , causing disruptions in daily life. Many families in Hanoi said they had to use clothes dryers or dehumidifiers to cope with the weather conditions "for the first time in decades".
On many technology groups, the topic of using dehumidifiers has also attracted the attention of users. Mr. Ngoc Quan (Hanoi) said that his family had to turn on the machine continuously for many days recently, both to reduce the uncomfortable feeling due to the high humidity in the room and to dry clothes. "It has been drizzling for a long time so the clothes cannot dry, and they have an unpleasant smell, so I have to bring them all inside and turn on the dehumidifier because the device has a drying function," Mr. Quan shared.

Similarly, many families living in apartments, especially on high floors, are also clearly feeling the discomfort of unusually high humidity in November. Ms. Le Van (Hanoi) said that her family's apartment is on the 15th floor. In recent days, the whole family has had to turn on two dehumidifiers continuously to ensure the house is always dry, avoiding the feeling of moisture on the wooden floor as well as blankets, mattresses and other fabric items. With the large capacity machine, she puts it in the living room, and the small machine can be flexibly moved between bedrooms.
According to her, her family's electricity bill this month will definitely be high because the two machines are running almost continuously all day, and she even has to connect a pipe to the bathroom to drain the excess water because if she doesn't do that, she will have to empty the dehumidifier tank every few hours.
The market is unpredictable
Sharing with Thanh Nien , Mr. Nguyen Minh Tan, Director of the retail system GIGA.vn, assessed that this year the market "fluctuated unpredictably" because the phenomenon of humidity appeared much earlier than the annual rule. Since the beginning of November, sales of dehumidifiers and dryers for households have increased nearly ten times compared to the same period, in which the first weekend of the month recorded the peak of people looking to buy these types of devices.

Sales increased, showing that consumers are reacting quickly to changes in the weather, and at the same time defining very specific shopping goals, no longer hesitant and indecisive as before. But according to Ms. Nguyen Ha, Marketing Director of distributor Hop Long, the humid weather coming too early has surprised both the system and the market.
"Normally, the company imports new goods and completes its inventory to prepare for the next sales season in September every year. However, the planned inventory has been consumed at an unexpectedly fast rate," Ms. Nguyen Ha shared. Even though they have stock in the warehouse, sellers are only able to "supply almost enough goods" to meet market demand, while many product codes have "sold out", forcing them to place additional import orders much earlier than planned.
Not only distributors, many dealer and retail systems were also surprised and did not have time to get stock from suppliers. In this context, the parties are having to urgently coordinate with the company and shipping units to coordinate products to warehouses to supply to consumers in different localities.
User criteria are increasingly high
In addition to the usual air drying function, consumers increasingly demand multi-purpose features to optimize the cost per expenditure. Among them, clothes drying is still the most popular feature and is considered an indispensable utility on modern dehumidifiers. According to Mr. Hoang Anh Dung, Lumias Product Manager, the new feature this year is the appearance of dehumidifiers with additional air filtering features.
Specifically, some dehumidifiers have integrated standard HEPA filters like specialized air purifiers, helping to simultaneously solve the two biggest problems of the humid season: high humidity and low air quality. In addition, manufacturers are constantly improving their products to improve dehumidification efficiency, reduce noise and optimize smarter user experience. Demand for high-capacity models has also increased significantly, as users tend to buy them for use in the entire house instead of just placing them in a single room.
"Users are increasingly aware of the importance of dehumidifiers in protecting health, interiors and indoor air quality. I think the trend of the upcoming wet season will focus on multi-function devices, quiet operation, effective dehumidification and good air filtration, meeting the need to find comprehensive solutions," said Mr. Hoang Anh Dung.
