Since the beginning of September, the weather in Ha Tinh has remained sunny, causing the demand for electricity to increase.

According to the Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, from the beginning of September until now, the weather in the whole province has been generally sunny, with average temperatures ranging from 33 degrees Celsius to 34 degrees Celsius. The southwest wind is generally at level 2 - 3, so the air humidity is quite low (75 - 85%), dry and hot. From September 11 to 17, due to the influence of the southern edge of the low pressure trough with an axis through the North, there have been thunderstorms in some areas. However, rain is not widespread, and hot weather still occurs in many localities. Day and night temperatures still fluctuate quite large, 25 - 34 degrees Celsius.

The common weather pattern is sunny, the temperature is quite high so people still have to maintain cooling devices at a large level. Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang, Thanh Sen ward said: "I have installed EVN's customer care app, through monitoring the electricity output in the first half of September, it has decreased compared to the same period in August but not significantly. On average, my family (4 people) still uses between 20 - 30 kWh per day. Devices such as refrigerators, fans, induction cookers, washing machines still have to be maintained as in other months; 2 air conditioners have reduced usage time but still have to be maintained every day because the noon is quite hot".

Many restaurant owners said that although the weather is not as hot as early August, it still feels very stuffy and hot, especially when the winter season begins. This forces restaurants to run air conditioners and fans continuously to serve customers.

According to many people, the average daily electricity consumption has not decreased significantly compared to August.

According to data from the Control Department (Ha Tinh Electricity Company), the average capacity in the first days of September remained high, reaching 69.1 million kWh as of September 14, down 16% compared to the same period in August but still up 21% compared to the same period in 2024. The day with the highest capacity was September 10, reaching 5.4 million kWh.

Ha Tinh Electricity Company said that part of the reason for the high increase in capacity and electricity output is that along with the strong development of the socio- economy , the demand for electricity for industrial production, services and people's daily life is increasing, especially in industrial zones, clusters, urban areas... At the same time, the impact of climate change is becoming more evident, this year, heat waves occur more often at the end of the season, and in August and September, there are still long heat waves. This has caused the intensity of people's use of cooling electrical equipment to remain high.

Ha Tinh Electricity Company actively promotes electricity saving to customers.

In recent times, Ha Tinh Electricity Company has regularly promoted and advised people to save electricity. In particular, optimal solutions include: using devices with labels confirming that they are energy-saving products, inverter technology products, timers to turn on/off household electrical appliances; installing LED bulbs to replace compact, fluorescent, and incandescent bulbs; changing electricity usage habits, limiting the simultaneous use of devices that consume a lot of electricity during peak hours of the power system (from 11:00 to 15:30 and from 20:00 to 23:30 every day).

Production and business establishments need to optimize their electrical systems; regularly maintain and service machinery, equipment, and electrical systems; apply advanced energy-saving solutions; increase internal electricity-saving propaganda; use renewable energy; raise awareness of saving and efficient electricity use among employees.

Using electrical equipment properly to avoid wasting electricity is the way to help people save money optimally.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh - representative of Hong Ha Shopping Center said: "The center regularly updates and imports equipment that applies modern technology, saves electricity optimally and advises customers to choose products with energy saving features. When installing, we instruct people to use it safely, economically, and ensure the durability of the equipment.

For example, air conditioners operate based on sucking heat from the room and releasing it outside. If set at 18–20°C (10–15°C difference from the outside), the machine must run continuously at high capacity to maintain, causing power loss; but if maintained at 27°C (less difference, about 5–7°C), the compressor will work less stressfully, reducing power consumption. At the same time, setting the temperature from 27°C, the machine can “rest” more, saving electricity and creating durability for the machine. In addition, customers also need to check and clean the machine regularly to ensure optimal operation of the machine.

In addition, other devices such as televisions, fans, etc. should be unplugged when not in use and not left on standby mode; refrigerators need to be checked and cleaned regularly, ensuring they are sealed and do not let cool air escape, wasting electricity.

In particular, make the most of natural light and wind, do not turn on lights when not necessary. Gradually reduce the time of using high-capacity cooling devices, for example, turn on the air conditioner from 10pm instead of 8-9pm as before...
