According to the original plan of the host country Thailand, the group stage of the U22 Vietnam team will be held in Songkhla. This is one of the three provinces hosting the 33rd SEA Games, along with Bangkok and Chonburi.
However, unusual weather caused historic flooding that flooded Songkhla in large areas, affecting facilities and preparations. The host country, Thailand, therefore had to come up with a plan to move the competitions here, including men's football, to another location.
Speaking with Tien Phong, a representative of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said today that it is likely that the group stage matches of the Vietnam U22 team will be moved to Rajamangala Stadium (Bangkok).

"We are currently waiting for official information from the host country Thailand to implement the preparation plan. However, it is likely that the team will compete in Bangkok. The professional department will update the situation to ensure careful logistical preparations for U22 Vietnam, helping coach Kim Sang-sik and the players focus on their professional work," he said.
At international congresses or tournaments, VFF often sends scouts to learn about the conditions of facilities, logistics, security and transportation... at the venue to help the national teams prepare most carefully. Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is a city where traffic jams and congestion often occur. Especially during the SEA Games, the large number of international visitors requires convenient travel plans.
At the 33rd SEA Games, the U22 Vietnam team is in Group B with Malaysia and Laos. Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team are currently gathering in Ba Ria-Vung Tau to complete their professional work before leaving for Thailand.
