Ta Quang Cong (born in 2002), a student majoring in Security Intelligence, graduated from the People's Security Academy in April this year with a score of 8.94/10. In addition to being the valedictorian, Cong soon set a goal of being retained as a lecturer at the school. Therefore, during nearly 5 years at the People's Security Academy, the male student from Hai Phong (formerly Hai Duong ) has constantly strived to pursue this goal.
“When I was studying at the school, I always wanted to stay to continue to develop and learn more about practical tasks. The day I received the news that I would be working at the Department of Internal Political Security, I was surprised and extremely moved,” Cong said.

Cong shared that he decided to pursue a career in the police force because both his sisters and brothers-in-law studied there. “When I was a child, seeing my brothers and sisters in uniform, I felt very much admiration and wished to be in their ranks.”
In 2020, Cong passed the People's Security Academy entrance exam according to group D01. Upon entering the school, the first "shock" Cong and other new students experienced was the 5-month training course at the Training and Professional Development Center 1, Mobile Police Command (K02).
The first days away from home, having to stay away from their phones, waking up at 5am to practice in the harsh winter weather, many students are exhausted.
“During that time, the winter was bitterly cold, the summer was scorching hot. However, being away from social media made everyone more united and closer,” Cong said.
Students like Cong are trained in many physical activities such as basic movements, martial arts, marching, swimming, etc. Although he regularly played sports in high school, Cong admitted that at first, he "couldn't stand it because he didn't have enough endurance."
“There were rainy days when the whole team still had to roll around, their clothes covered in mud. Although everyone could imagine the hardship, no one expected the training intensity to be this intense.”

Physical training is tough, professional training is not easy either. For example, with command training - the backbone of police officers, many students with poor physical condition even fainted.
“We students often joke with each other: If an ant bites you, don’t scratch it. If a girl passes by, don’t look at her. As long as we hear the call to ‘attention,’ we all obey the order,” Cong said.
Although it was hard, according to Cong, the training period was also the most memorable time.
“After finishing training, in the evening, we can rest, relax, and have fun performing arts.” During those 5 months, Cong also lost 12kg compared to when he first entered the academy.
Dream of standing in the lecture hall
After completing 5 months of training, Cong returned to the classroom to study general and specialized subjects. Having determined early on his goal of being retained as a lecturer at the school, Cong began to map out a clear roadmap to achieve it.
The most important thing, according to Cong, is to keep the best possible score. Therefore, every time he studies a new subject, he goes to the library to learn the main content of the subject first, then writes it down in his notebook. When in class, Cong listens carefully to the lecture and takes notes.
Thanks to this way of studying, Cong achieved 3 excellent years and 2 good years.

However, the male student also said that when applying to the school to become a lecturer, in addition to the "hard" standards, the difference to increase the advantage lies in the secondary criteria.
Therefore, in addition to his grades, Cong has made efforts in scientific research, winning many awards such as: First Prize for Scientific Research Students at the Academy level, 5 Good Students at the central level for 2 consecutive years; 5 Good Students at the Ministry of Public Security level for 3 consecutive years; Certificates of Merit from the Minister for research competitions, movement competitions; Certificates of Merit from the Academy in competitions...
“I always try to complete those criteria early so that I have time to focus on deepening my expertise,” Cong shared. In total, in nearly 5 years, Cong has received more than 50 certificates of merit from ministries, departments, and academies.
With this result, Cong was retained at the school right after graduating from university. Currently, Lieutenant Ta Quang Cong is a trainee lecturer at the Department of Internal Political Security.
During the time before teaching independently, Cong spent most of his time observing senior lecturers, researching, learning how to convey and structure lectures.
According to Cong, the role of a police lecturer is not only to impart knowledge but also to be an example in demeanor, courage and professional ethics.
“We are trained according to three teachings: heart teaching - dedication to the profession, language teaching - standard speech, and body teaching - standard image and demeanor. When going to class, we wear military uniforms, obey orders, and follow the discipline of the industry,” Cong shared.
Determining the need to study further to perfect his knowledge, Cong plans to continue studying the theoretical path, while also going to the field to better understand the specific activities of the industry in practice.
“Staying to teach is not only an honor but also a great responsibility. I hope I can pass on the energy, motivation and learning methods I received from my teachers,” Cong said.
