Sharing with CAND Newspaper reporters, Yen Nhi said that since grade 10, she had decided to study in the C00 group, with the goal of applying to the Literature Pedagogy major at Hanoi National University of Education because becoming a Literature teacher has been her dream since childhood. According to Yen Nhi, her love for Literature originated from her years in secondary school. The reason she likes Literature is because Literature helps her live many lives, get to know places she has never been to, expand her life experience, and train herself through each situation and each story, thereby being able to learn and grow on her own. Her love for the teaching profession originated from her family tradition, where her grandparents, aunts and uncles all work in the teaching profession, especially her mother, a teacher working at Nghi Tan Secondary School (Nghe An), who has had the greatest influence on her.

Yen Nhi confided: “My father died early in a traffic accident when I was just over 4 years old, so my memories of him are mainly preserved through my mother's stories. After my father passed away, both my paternal and maternal families wanted to raise one of my two sisters to share the economic burden on my mother. However, my mother was determined to support the family, wholeheartedly raising my two sisters to study. When I was young, I was not fully aware of this, but the older I got, the more I admired my mother's determination and courage. My mother has always been a beautiful image, an example of life's determination. It was my mother's life of never giving up and not giving in to fate that helped me overcome temporary difficulties to pursue my goals and fulfill my passion and dreams."
Understanding the hardships of their mother, Yen Nhi and her sister always tried to study. During 12 years of studying, Yen Nhi was an excellent student. In grade 12, she won the second prize in the provincial excellent student competition in Literature. In addition to 3 subjects with almost perfect scores in the high school graduation exam, Yen Nhi also achieved 8 points in Math and was in the top students with high scores in the high school graduation exam of Nghe An province. Yen Nhi said that of the three subjects in block C00, Literature is the subject she has the best basic knowledge. As for the two subjects History and Geography, she started to review in depth later. In the summer of grade 11, Yen Nhi began to speed up her progress and study the History and Geography programs in advance. By the middle of grade 12, Yen Nhi had completed the basic knowledge of the above subjects to focus on practicing questions, in parallel with studying Math to review for the high school graduation exam.
In particular, during the learning and reviewing process, Yen Nhi built and divided each stage with specific tasks. In the first stage of learning basic knowledge, she did not do practice tests right away because it was easy to get many questions wrong, which would affect her psychology. When she completed the basic knowledge, from the second semester of grade 12, Yen Nhi began to study advanced knowledge in depth and focused on practicing tests. In the last month before the high school graduation exam, Yen Nhi alternated between doing tests and systematizing her knowledge. About 1 week before the exam, she did not do any more tests but only re-read the entire content of the 3-subject program and memorized the important knowledge.
Yen Nhi's secret to taking the high school graduation exam is that for the Literature subject, she outlined a brief outline, quantified her writing with the appropriate time for each part and each question. For the two multiple-choice subjects, she did not rush through even the easy questions, but chose a solid way to do them. Yen Nhi said that she did not study outside of school but mainly studied at school. For difficult problems, she directly asked her teachers for answers and registered for some online courses to supplement her knowledge. The remaining time, she studied at home with a clear and scientific schedule. During the practice test, if she got any questions wrong, she wrote them down carefully so as not to repeat the mistake. In particular, although she studies very hard, she also knows how to take care of her health. All factors from knowledge, psychology, health... are important to Yen Nhi in order to focus on an exam with the best results.
Teacher Nguyen Thi Ut Suong, Yen Nhi's homeroom teacher, also expressed pride in her student: "Yen Nhi is a very determined student. Her father died early and her family's circumstances are difficult, but she always tries her best and works hard in her studies. She has good learning ability, she also has a high sense of self-study and self-training, a spirit of learning, seriousness, and scientific learning methods. In the school's mock exams and those of the Nghe An Department of Education and Training, Yen Nhi is always in the group of students with the highest scores. Besides, she is also very active, actively participating in all movements and activities of the class and the school. The result of being the valedictorian of block C00 nationwide is worthy of Yen Nhi and is also a joy and pride for the school."
