Nearly 80 awards in 5 years
Last April, Second Lieutenant Ta Quang Cong (People's Security Academy) graduated. He was also retained to work at the Internal Political Security Department, People's Security Academy - one of 14 rare soldiers selected by the Academy after many years.
Ta Quang Cong is from Kim Thanh, Hai Phong (formerly Hai Duong ), a former student of course D52, Security Reconnaissance major, major in Internal Security Protection Reconnaissance, People's Security Academy.
With a total score of 8.94/10, Cong is one of 95 valedictorians of the capital city to be honored this year.

Ta Quang Cong was recognized as "Excellent Student of the entire course", "Excellent Student" for 3 years, "Excellent Student" for 2 years, "5 Good Students at the Central level" for 2 consecutive years, received Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Public Security , the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and 18 large and small awards at all levels.
Among the nearly 80 awards received during nearly 5 years of study, Cong has 7 certificates of merit from the Minister, 45 certificates of merit from the Director of the People's Security Academy and many certificates of merit from other units.
When asked why he chose to stay and teach instead of working outside, Cong shared that he wanted to follow his family's traditional profession.
More than a job, what Cong is looking for is an opportunity to study and research further, and the Academy is the best place for him to nurture his dream. Therefore, right from the first years of school, the male student has set a clear path to strive for this goal.

In addition to focusing on training and studying at school, in his second year, Cong embarked on scientific research. In 2023, Cong successfully defended his thesis and won first prize at the Academy level.
The topic Cong worked on was related to school violence because, in his opinion, this was a current issue, suitable for his major. Success continued, Cong continued to receive many certificates of merit and awards for his academic achievements and volunteer work during nearly 5 years of study.
For Cong, the teaching profession is noble, but when standing in a classroom in a secure environment, the lecturer carries an even more special responsibility.
In addition to strictly following the regulations – from uniform to demeanor – Cong always reminds himself to live and teach according to the “three teachings”: teachings of the heart, teachings of speech, and teachings of conduct.
I think that a teacher in the security force not only needs knowledge and personality but also needs to be careful in every word and action to maintain discipline and confidentiality of the industry.

Lost 13 kg after 6 months of training
For Cong, the first years of entering the Security Academy and training at the Mobile Police Command were quite “haunting”. From a boy 1.81m tall and weighing 81kg, after only 6 months of training, Cong lost 13kg, weighing only 68kg.
The boy said that when he first entered the school, he and his friends were very excited, but the training surprised everyone.
Cong's day begins at 5am. After folding the blankets and mosquito nets in accordance with the People's Public Security (Public Security) regulations, the students must run 3km, do martial arts and physical exercises such as push-ups and sit-ups, and then clean their rooms.
During roll call, the management staff checks the students' rooms - from the folds of the blankets to the cleanliness of the rooms - every detail must be correct and in accordance with industry regulations.

“In the early days, we learned martial arts, jumping, push-ups... there were exercises where we had to fall dozens of times to get it right.
Regarding learning regulations, this is considered the backbone of police officers. When the teacher calls: "Attention", everyone must obey absolutely.
Back then, we had a classic saying that we often used to tease each other: “If you get bitten by an ant, don’t scratch it. If you see a girl passing by, don’t look at her.” Many students with poor health often fainted during this lesson,” Cong said.
For training subjects such as swimming and shooting, students must practice in all kinds of harsh weather conditions. On days when the temperature drops very low, students still go into the water to practice swimming, even practicing silent swimming to meet the special requirements of reconnaissance work.

The young man said that although he was physically fit because he played sports and went to the gym, he was still challenged by the harsh training intensity beyond his imagination. There were training sessions where both men and women were exhausted.
After 5 months of "bleeding" on the training ground and losing 13kg, Cong and the other students returned to school to study.
Lieutenant Ta Quang Cong said that every difficulty today trains brave soldiers for tomorrow, so there are times of weakness, but he and many other students still try harder.

Currently, Cong is a trainee lecturer at the People's Security Academy. In the near future, he will practice and do practical work outside the practical unit.
Sharing about his future dream, the young man said he is striving to soon become an exemplary lecturer like his colleagues in the unit, and at the same time research and study at a higher level after university.
On the evening of November 14, at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, the Hanoi People's Committee coordinated with the Hanoi Youth Union to organize a ceremony to honor 95 excellent valedictorians graduating from universities and academies in the capital in 2025.
According to the Hanoi Youth Union, among the 95 valedictorians honored this year, many students are party members, have achieved the title of "5 good students" at school and city levels, and have scientific research works and initiatives that have won domestic and international awards.
