Kim Thanh is injured and will be absent from the Vietnam - Philippines match. |
Goalkeeper Tran Thi Kim Thanh, the number one goalkeeper of the Vietnamese women's team for many years, has not been able to participate after being injured during a training session in Thailand. According to Tri Thuc - Znews , Kim Thanh suffered a muscle strain and did not collide with any teammates. The injury happened quite unexpectedly, forcing her to miss the opening match of the 33rd SEA Games against Malaysia on December 5.
Kim Thanh is being closely monitored by the team’s doctors and receiving daily rehabilitation treatment. However, her current condition does not allow the 1993-born goalkeeper to return to high-intensity training. This means she will continue to be absent from the important match against the Philippines on the evening of December 8.
In the opening match, Khong Thi Hang was given the opportunity to replace and completed the task well, keeping a clean sheet in the home team's 7-0 victory. Hang's confidence somewhat helped the coaching staff feel secure, especially in the context that the Vietnamese women's team needs to maintain stability before entering the key match of Group B.
Apart from Kim Thanh, all the remaining players are in good shape, have no injuries and are maintaining high spirits after the opening victory. Coach Mai Duc Chung's team is still determined, especially when the match against the Philippines is considered the final match of the group.
The match against the Philippines will take place at 6:30 p.m. on December 8. In the absence of the team's most experienced goalkeeper, the Vietnamese women's team is counting on the stable performance of Khong Thi Hang and the maximum concentration of the entire team to aim for the goal of winning all 3 points, thereby creating an advantage before the final match of the group stage.
