(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien had an outstanding match, making numerous crucial saves against dangerous shots from the Saudi Arabia U23 players. He played a major role in Vietnam U23's 1-0 victory last night (January 12).

Vietnam U23 brilliantly defeated Saudi Arabia U23 1-0.

According to statistics, U23 Saudi Arabia had 26 shots on goal against U23 Vietnam, with 7 of them on target. All 7 of these shots on target were saved by goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien.

In those matches, there were many instances where goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien made spectacular saves for the Vietnam U23 team, much to the astonishment of the Saudi Arabia U23 players.

After the match, goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien said: “Before entering the match against U23 Saudi Arabia, our goal was to win all 3 points. And to get the victory, we played with more than 100% of our ability.”

"The Vietnam U23 team is very excited about securing a perfect 9 points after winning all 3 matches in the group stage. We are thrilled because we have qualified for the quarterfinals," added the goalkeeper currently playing for HAGL Club.

Reaching the quarter-finals was the goal that the Vietnam U23 team set before this year's U23 Asian Championship. Now, coach Kim Sang Sik's team is starting to think about even more ambitious goals.

Goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien said what Vietnamese football fans have been waiting for: "We don't want to stop here. The Vietnam U23 team will try to perform better in the next rounds."
