AI engineer income in Vietnam can reach up to 10 billion VND/year

Students of International University (Ho Chi Minh City National University) participated in the talk "Advanced rocket systems and artificial intelligence (AI)" this morning.

The information was shared in a talk entitled "Advanced rocket systems and artificial intelligence (AI)" organized by the International University (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) this morning (October 16). This is one of a series of public lectures the school has organized for students of many schools over the years.

The main contents of the talk will focus on the limitations and advances of current rocket technology, new technologies being researched as well as future prospects for space exploration . Notably, issues of AI and its applications, the impact of AI on all aspects of social life and the application of AI in rocket propulsion systems.

AI engineer is one of the attractive careers

During the program, Master Dao Trung Thanh, Deputy Director of the Institute of Blockchain Technology and Artificial Intelligence ABAII, shared a speech with the topic: "Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Physics: Cooperation between Humans and Machines". A notable content in this speech is related to the impact of AI on the labor market.

Master Trung Thanh informed that 300 million full-time jobs are affected by automation. 2/3 of jobs in the US will be partially automated thanks to AI. However, this Deputy Director still said: "Although the impact of AI on the labor market can be significant, most jobs and industries are only partially automated and therefore are more likely to be supplemented than replaced by AI".

Sharing about the "new booming profession", Master Dao Trung Thanh said that AI engineer is a job with attractive opportunities and income. "AI engineer is one of the attractive careers with the pursuit of startups and large corporations such as Google, OpenAI, Netflix", Mr. Thanh said.

In particular, experts inform about the high salary from this job. Specifically, the salary of an AI engineer is approximately 200,000 USD/year (2.3 times that of a software engineer). Good AI engineers can be paid from 500,000 to 800,000 USD/year. OpenAI can provide an income package of up to 10 million USD/year for AI scientists .

In Vietnam, Mr. Thanh cited FPT as saying that AI and Machine Learning engineers are the highest paid positions in the IT industry, up to 10 billion VND/year for senior engineers.

What to prepare for the future with AI?

Sharing with learners, Master Dao Trung Thanh pointed out 8 issues that need to be prepared for the future with AI. The first is open and flexible thinking, specifically always being open to changes and new developments in technology, ready to adapt and apply new knowledge. Next is continuous learning, taking advantage of online learning resources, courses and workshops; Updating the latest knowledge and skills in AI and Blockchain. Not only continuous learning but also practice and apply knowledge to solve real problems.

According to Master Dao Trung Thanh, the necessary preparation factors include building a network, connecting with the online and offline community; developing soft skills, teamwork, problem solving and effective communication. Notably, learners need to "be ready to fail, consider failure as a stepping stone to success, learn from failure to continue to develop".

Additionally, two things learners need to prepare for the AI future are finding a mentor and sharing experiences, sharing your knowledge and experience with the community.

Also in the program, the Deputy Director of the Institute of Blockchain Technology and Artificial Intelligence ABAII, mentioned AI ethics issues. According to Mr. Thanh, it is mainly the principles and ethical systems built in the use and development of AI, including common ethical values in society.
