Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long participated in high-level activities within the framework of the State visit of the General Secretary and his wife to Laos and Cambodia.

In Laos, on February 5, 2026, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long attended the talks between General Secretary To Lam and the General Secretary and President of Laos. During the talks, the high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and States had extensive discussions on major directions to further consolidate and develop the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in the new period, including cooperation in economics , trade, and energy.

On the same day, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long attended the signing ceremony of cooperation documents between Vietnam and Laos, witnessed by high-ranking leaders of both countries. This demonstrated the political determination to concretize bilateral cooperation commitments and agreements, creating a favorable framework to promote substantive and effective cooperation in many fields.

During his working visit to Laos, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long also attended the meeting between the Prime Minister of Vietnam and the Prime Minister of Laos, thereby monitoring and updating the contents of the exchanges and agreements between the two governments to continue implementing tasks of economic, trade, investment and energy cooperation as directed by the high-level leaders of the two countries. .

Continuing his work program, on February 6, 2026, in Cambodia, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long attended the meeting between the Prime Minister of Vietnam and the Prime Minister of Cambodia, monitoring and coordinating the implementation of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, including orientations to promote bilateral trade, energy cooperation, and market connectivity, in line with the directives of the high-level leaders of both countries.

The participation of Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long in accompanying high-ranking leaders at the aforementioned activities further affirms the active and proactive role of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in implementing high-level foreign affairs tasks, contributing to concretizing political commitments into practical cooperation contents, and contributing to the overall success of the General Secretary's state visit to Laos and Cambodia.

In 2025, the total import and export turnover between Vietnam and Laos is projected to reach US$3 billion, an increase of 32.7% compared to the same period in 2024. Of this, Vietnam's exports to Laos are expected to reach US$1.1 billion, an increase of 43.2%; and Vietnam's imports from Laos are expected to reach US$1.9 billion, an increase of 27.4%. Vietnam's trade deficit with Laos is projected at US$825.8 million, an increase of 11.3%.

In 2025, Vietnam's total import and export turnover with Cambodia is projected to reach over US$11.3 billion, a 12% increase compared to 2024. Of this, Vietnam's exports to Cambodia are expected to reach US$5.67 billion, a 5.7% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Vietnam's imports from Cambodia are projected to reach US$5.66 billion, an 18.4% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
