Attending the reception were leaders of the following units: Department of European - American Markets, Coal Oil and Gas, Department of Energy Conservation, Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and Electricity Regulatory Authority.
On behalf of the Ministry of Industry and Trade , Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long expressed his joy and welcomed Mr. François Corbin and the French business delegation to work at the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long affirmed that Vietnam and France have a long-standing traditional relationship, and cooperation between the two countries in recent times has achieved many achievements but is not commensurate with the potential of the two sides. According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long, when the relationship between the two countries is upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership, bilateral cooperation will be further promoted in many fields, in which trade and energy cooperation will be two fields that will benefit greatly from the new milestone in the relationship between the two countries.
At the reception, Mr. François Corbin said that right after the visit to France of General Secretary and President To Lam in October 2024, MEDEF organized a business delegation to promote the expansion of investment and business cooperation in Vietnam. Mr. François Corbin affirmed that MEDEF and French businesses always attach importance to and wish to further strengthen cooperative relations with Vietnam, especially in the fields of economics , trade and energy.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long acknowledged the contributions of France and its partners to the implementation of the JETP Declaration in Vietnam, and expressed his hope that French enterprises could take advantage of JETP resources to continue promoting the implementation of projects in the field of renewable energy. In addition, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long highly appreciated the activities of a number of large French corporations and companies in the energy sector in Vietnam, and affirmed that the Ministry of Industry and Trade always creates favorable conditions and supports and expects the utmost efforts from the EU enterprises in general and France in particular to achieve the best results.
At the end of the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long affirmed that the Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to closely coordinate with MEDEF and the French Embassy in promoting economic, trade, industrial and energy relations between Vietnam and France to match the comprehensive strategic partnership.
