The National Science and Technology Program (S&T) Phase II: "Fundamental and urgent issues on ethnic minorities and ethnic policies in Vietnam until 2030" aims to research, provide scientific arguments and solutions; apply and transfer scientific and technological advances on the basis of culture and traditional knowledge to serve the socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
Through the Program, a number of solutions, mechanisms, and policies for socio-economic development, ensuring national defense, security, and sustainable poverty reduction in regions by 2030, with a vision to 2045, will be developed and piloted according to the Resolutions of the Politburo ; thereby summarizing, evaluating, and replicating appropriate and effective solutions, mechanisms, and policies.
Propose and build a number of models of applying science and technology to serve production and people's lives and apply comprehensive solutions for sustainable socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas at a community scale; combine businesses, organizations and individuals to research, apply, transfer technical advances, science and technology solutions for socio-economic development on the basis of promoting the potential and strengths of ethnic minority and mountainous areas and ethnic minority communities. Pilot and deploy a number of feasible solutions to serve the management and effective implementation of the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas until 2030 and the period after 2030...
At the same time, update, supplement, improve and maintain the national database system on ethnic minorities and basic information in ethnic minority and mountainous areas to meet the requirements of planning and effectively implementing ethnic policies. Support training, science and technology information to raise awareness and application level of enterprises, economic organizations, communities and people to contribute to the rapid and sustainable development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
At the meeting, scientists discussed enthusiastically and proposed many important contents to supplement and perfect the content of the Program Framework, eliminate inappropriate points and add new points.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister and Vice Director Nong Thi Ha highly appreciated the enthusiasm and responsibility in the comments and suggestions of scientists on the content of the National Science and Technology Program Phase II; and believed that with the perspective of scientists, the basic and urgent issues would be clarified and the "key" of the Program would be identified.
Deputy Minister and Vice Director Nong Thi Ha also assigned the General Department to receive comments from scientists to synthesize and complete the Program Framework as soon as possible.
