According to the Deputy Minister of Health, Vietnam and the European Union have established diplomatic relations for 35 years. In recent times, many agreements have been signed by both sides, which affirms the role and importance of active cooperation and sustainable development together.

The meeting and working session between the Ministry of Health and the EuroCham delegation and Pharma Group focused on two main contents related to the health insurance sector in the coming time to specifically and effectively implement the goals in Resolution 20-NQ/TW and Resolution 72-NQ/TW;
At the same time, innovative financial mechanisms based on international experience suitable for the context of Vietnam based on public-private partnership were discussed, in which patient drug support programs were identified as an effective tool to help patients access new drugs (not yet covered by health insurance) while reducing financial burdens.

Providing further information to EuroCham and Pharma Group, Permanent Deputy Minister Vu Manh Ha suggested that the European Union and EU enterprises actively strengthen cooperation, promote the potential and strengths of each side, focus on the green economic chain, especially focus on training, research, technology transfer, production of vaccines, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and specialized, high-quality products to serve domestic needs and export.
"We will enhance our capacity to meet the cooperation needs of European Union businesses, and continuously reform administrative procedures to meet the practical needs of attracting investment and serving the people better and better," said the Permanent Deputy Minister of Health.
Permanent Deputy Minister Vu Manh Ha also informed that the Ministry of Health is completing the Steering Committee on Global Health headed by a Ministry Leader and establishing a Global Health Office located at the Department of International Cooperation to advise the Minister on the priority areas of the sector, as well as the focus areas of cooperation on global health and medicine. This will be the focal point for cooperation between units of the sector and partners.
"We hope that the European Union and European Union businesses will use this channel to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest to come up with policies and proposals that are suitable to the practical situation of Vietnam" - Permanent Deputy Minister Vu Manh Ha said and added: Regarding the proposal for a direct meeting between the Ministry of Health, EuroCham and Pharma Group, the Ministry of Health agrees and plans to hold it once a year to discuss relevant issues in the field of health care that both sides are interested in.

Regarding the contents related to the field of health insurance drugs, the partial drug support program for patients, EuroCham and Pharma Group are interested, the Deputy Minister assigned the Health Insurance Department to be the focal point for continued exchanges to achieve step-by-step harmony between the parties and people participating in health insurance.
Ms. Katharina Geppert, on behalf of the EuroCham delegation and Pharma Group, expressed her gratitude for the information exchanged by Permanent Deputy Minister Vu Manh Ha and the Departments and Bureaus of the Ministry of Health at the meeting.
