Prime Minister directs investigation into bus accident that killed 4 people in Dong Nai

According to a quick report from the National Traffic Safety Committee, at 2:30 a.m. on September 30, at Km48 of National Highway 20 in Phu Vinh Commune (Dinh Quan District, Dong Nai ), an especially serious traffic accident occurred.

The accident between a sleeper bus with license plate 50F-004.83 and a 16-seat bus with license plate 86B-015.75 left 4 people dead and many injured.

Immediately upon receiving information about the accident, the Prime Minister sent his condolences to the relatives and families of the deceased victims, and encouraged and visited the injured victims in the accident.

The Prime Minister also assigned Mr. Khuat Viet Hung, Vice Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee, to go directly to the scene to coordinate with the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies to direct the handling of the consequences and visit the victims of the accident.

The Prime Minister requested the Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee to direct units to concentrate maximum medical staff, medicine, equipment and medical supplies to treat injured victims.

Create favorable conditions for families to quickly approach victims in the accident, carry out procedures related to deceased victims; organize visits, support and encourage families of deceased victims and injured victims in the accident.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directly chaired the conference with relevant agencies and forces to assess the causes and implement solutions to overcome shortcomings and inadequacies; at the same time, consider and strictly handle the responsibilities of relevant organizations and individuals.

Closely coordinate with the competent agencies of the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Transport, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Binh Thuan province to comprehensively inspect the compliance with regulations on business and conditions for business of automobile transportation for enterprises, business households with vehicles and people involved in the accident. Strictly handle violations according to the law.

The Prime Minister also assigned the Ministry of Public Security to direct the Dong Nai Provincial Police and relevant police units to urgently investigate and clarify the cause of the accident and strictly handle in accordance with the law the organizations and individuals who violated regulations, causing the above particularly serious traffic accident.

Identify and clarify the direct cause of the traffic accident and the causes related to the responsibilities of collectives and individuals in state management related to the above traffic accident to serve the prevention of similar traffic accidents in the future.

The Ministry of Transport has directed the Vietnam Road Administration to coordinate with relevant agencies to review and strengthen traffic organization to improve the safety of the traffic infrastructure system on National Highway 20. Focus on adding guardrails and emergency shelters at steep mountain passes on national highways nationwide.
