Inspecting the pineapple raw material area in Quang Son commune, Tam Diep city, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked and encouraged workers about their lives and working conditions and was happy to see that workers' incomes were increasingly stable, their spiritual lives were rich, and workers were assured of their commitment to the Company and contributed to the overall development of the locality.

Working at Dong Giao Food Export Joint Stock Company, the Company's leaders reported to the Prime Minister and the Working Group on the production and business situation. Accordingly, the Company is one of the leading fruit and vegetable processing units in the country with 3 large processing centers in Ninh Binh, Gia Lai and Son La with a processing capacity of 136,000 tons of products/year. Products are exported to more than 50 countries, mainly concentrated in the European, Korean, Japanese and Israeli markets.

Currently, the Company has established and managed 4 main raw material areas with an area of 24,600 hectares in Ninh Binh province, some provinces in the Red River Delta, North Central, Northwest and Central Highlands. In addition, the Company also cooperates with more than 315 cooperatives and traders nationwide.

In the process of agricultural production and cultivation, the Company has applied many technical advances and high technologies such as automatic irrigation, plastic film, and at the same time focused on organic production, using microbial fertilizers. Therefore, input vegetables and fruits have high productivity, good quality, meeting the strict demands of international customers.

In 2023, the Company's revenue will reach VND 3,000 billion; of which, export turnover accounts for 80%, reaching 169% compared to 2022; domestic sales will increase by 12% compared to 2022. In the first 5 months of 2024, the Company's export turnover is estimated at VND 1,300 billion, an increase of 38% over the same period in 2023; domestic sales will reach VND 270 billion, an increase of 15%.

The company is creating jobs for over 31,000 workers with an average salary of 8 - 10 million VND/person/month. In addition to business development, the company also pays special attention to the lives of workers and actively participates in social security activities; prioritizing job creation for ethnic minority workers. In 2023, the company donated 6 billion VND to hunger eradication and poverty reduction in Ninh Binh, Son La and Gia Lai provinces.

Regarding Party work, the Company's Party Committee currently has 12 affiliated Party cells with 137 Party members, achieving the title of excellent performance for 5 consecutive years. Every year, the Company completes the target of recruiting new Party members.

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Dong Giao is a state-owned farm with a history of nearly 70 years of establishment and development, a place where beloved Uncle Ho visited and encouraged. Following President Ho's instructions, in addition to performing well in production and business tasks, the Company always cares for the material and spiritual life of workers, bringing happiness and prosperity to the people in accordance with Uncle Ho's wishes and the guidelines, lines and policies of the Party and State.

Implementing the policy of converting the state enterprise management model, Dong Giao is one of the typical units nationwide in terms of success in converting management from state to joint stock while still ensuring jobs for thousands of workers, increasing the value of shareholders' dividends, fully investing in grassroots cultural institutions, and improving social security. Dong Giao Food Export Joint Stock Company has become a strong company in exporting agricultural products with a system of factories and raw material areas spread across regions across the country.

The Prime Minister hopes that, with the solid foundation that Dong Giao Food Export Joint Stock Company has created over more than 70 years of construction and growth, central ministries, branches and localities need to join hands to support building DOVECO into a national brand of international stature.

To do this, the Prime Minister directed the central ministries, branches and Ninh Binh province to have practical solutions to support the Company to promote the application of science and technology in production. In particular, pay special attention to researching new crop varieties with high value in terms of productivity, quality, suitable for soil and climate of the regions. Organize the planning of raw material areas in accordance with the development goals of the enterprise and the orientation of the province. Pay attention to investing and upgrading synchronous and modern infrastructure. Support the Company to expand and diversify markets, deeply participate in the global supply chain. Have preferential mechanisms and policies on production capital so that the Company has more resources to expand production development, focusing on export.

For businesses, in the coming time, it is necessary to research and expand the scale of production and processing in a closed and modern direction. Build large model fields to apply high technology, bring in machines to replace part of the process, liberating labor for workers. Continue to research and put into production to replicate pineapple varieties with higher productivity and quality. Pay more attention to the material and spiritual life of workers, expand investment in building modern cultural institutions. Together with the locality, implement the major, consistent goal of taking people as the center, the goal, the resource, and the driving force for sustainable development.
