In the letter, the Prime Minister wrote:
On behalf of the Government and football fans nationwide, I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to the coaching staff and the entire Vietnam U23 men's football team for their tenacious and courageous performance throughout the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup, especially in the bronze medal match at the Finals when they were down to only 10 players on the field and achieved a magnificent victory, bringing excitement, joy, and pride to the people and the country, and making a practical contribution to celebrating the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The Prime Minister sent a letter congratulating the Vietnamese U23 men's football team on their victory.
Once again, we witnessed a magnificent victory of Vietnamese will, belief, and aspiration. The entire Vietnam U23 men's football team demonstrated a cohesive, disciplined, intelligent playing style and a tenacious, courageous, and confident fighting spirit, all for the sacred colors of the Fatherland.
I acknowledge and highly appreciate the meticulous, scientific , and systematic preparation of the coaching staff, the close attention and guidance of the Vietnam Football Federation, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and especially the spirit of unity, effort, and silent contributions of the players. Inheriting and continuing the legacy of previous generations, following the success with the Gold Medal at the 33rd SEA Games, the journey and achievements of Vietnamese football at the 2026 AFC U23 Championship have sent a strong message about the image of the young generation of Vietnam in the new era: full of aspirations, courage, willpower, resilience, unity, and readiness to venture out into the "big ocean". On this occasion, I sincerely thank the fans nationwide for their constant attention, support, and enthusiastic encouragement, which have given the team immense faith, motivation, and spiritual strength, even in matches where the results were not as desired.
We believe that the coaching staff and the team will continue to uphold the spirit of the "Golden Star Warriors," overcome all difficulties and challenges, and achieve even more success in regional and international competitions, bringing glory to our national football in the future.
Millions of Vietnamese fans' hearts will always be with, always by, and always supporting the football teams in particular and sports in general.
